On thanks to model maker and collector Hugh who sent into Everything Dinosaur a photograph of a diorama he had created that features the recently introduced Rebor Gorilla Z Alpha Male figure, a 1/11th scale figure of a mountain gorilla.
Model maker Hugh has given his Rebor Gorilla figure a well-proportioned display base. The plinth works well with the gorilla model and the dinosaur skull is an additional feature that provides a sense of scale to the cleverly composed piece.
Using a Display Base in Proportion to the Figure
Hugh, as an experienced model maker has chosen to display his figure on a square base. He has been careful not to get the display base out of proportion to the actual animal figure. This is a well-proportioned composition, with the plinth not detracting too much from the model. The placement of the model’s feet has been considered and the use of rocks to break up the topography with the small tussocks of grass adding interest.
Rebor Gorilla Model
The dinosaur skull at the feet of the gorilla adds a nice touch and provides a sense of scale to this cleverly composed piece.

A spokesperson from Everything Dinosaur commented:
“These 1:11 scale gorilla figures from Rebor have been beautifully crafted and they are ideal candidates for use in prehistoric scenes and dioramas”.
Three Different Gorilla Colour Variants to Choose From
Rebor has continued the trend of offering different colour variants with the recently introduced Gorilla Alpha Males. Three colour variants have been produced. There is “primal”, the brown coloured gorilla that was used by Hugh in his diorama, plus “patriarch” a black colour variant and an albino figure (albino).
The design team at Rebor have been heavily influenced by monster movies of yesteryear and as Hugh has demonstrated, these models provide plenty of scope for the imaginative, creative model maker when it comes to designing and producing attractive dioramas and prehistoric scenes.
The production run for these gorilla figures was limited and Everything Dinosaur team members are not sure whether these models will be made again once existing stocks have been sold.

Megalosaurus was scientifically described way back in 1824 (Buckland), over the last 197 years, this dinosaur has had a number of makeovers. The lizard-like quadruped as depicted in the world-famous Crystal Palace dinosaur sculptures may be long gone, but its appearance is still debated. For example, did theropod dinosaurs have lips? The new CollectA Age of Dinosaurs Popular Megalosaurus model provides collectors with a very modern interpretation of “Big Lizard”, lips are included along with a plume of bristles beginning at the back of the hips and running about a quarter of the tail’s length.

CollectA Age of Dinosaurs Popular Megalosaurus
Part of the extensive CollectA Age of Dinosaurs Popular range, this new for 2021 Megalosaurus replica replaces an early CollectA Megalosaurus that was first introduced around eleven years ago. The “kangaroo posture” has gone, the hands are not pronated and the feet have been correctly proportioned.
The model is more scientifically accurate and it has been posed “mouth shut” a more natural pose than the previous figure with its large, open jaws revealing a set of beautiful but unrealistic white teeth.
The original CollectA Megalosaurus that was introduced in 2010. This original Megalosaurus figure from CollectA has been replaced with a more scientifically accurate model.
Iconic Dinosaur
A spokesperson from Everything Dinosaur commented:
“We think William Buckland, Richard Owen and indeed Robert Plot who first published a description of a Megalosaurus fossil bone back in 1676, would be most impressed with this figure. They probably would not recognise this interpretation. It reflects how far our understanding of the Dinosauria has changed.”

The design team at CollectA have given their new Megalosaurus model lips. This is in line with some of the latest scientific thinking. As a result, our Megalosaurus in ambush has an intriguing expression on its carefully painted face. It’s as if it knows something we don’t!
Team members at Everything Dinosaur have nicknamed this dinosaur model “Mona Lisa Megalosaurus” – our tribute to the enigmatic look on this little figure.

Skilfully Painted
Measuring around 16 cm in length, this is a skilfully painted model. The obvious counter shading on the previous model has gone, being replaced with more muted and subtle tones. The dark spots and stripes on the body and on the anterior portion of the muzzle contrast nicely with the underlying tan colouration.
The new CollectA Megalosaurus dinosaur model has been given a short row of bristles, a nod perhaps to megalosaur fossil material from Germany that reputedly showed evidence of an integumentary covering: Megalosaurs join the “Tufty” club.
The new for 2021 CollectA Kamuysaurus dinosaur model is in stock and what a wonderful addition it makes to the CollectA Age of Dinosaurs Popular range. It’s great to see CollectA introduce another hadrosaur replica, a replica of a dinosaur that was only formally named and described in 2019.
The new for 2021 CollectA Kamuysaurus dinosaur model continues the trend for CollectA to make replicas of the unique Japanese dinosaur biota. Kamuysaurus follows on from Fukuiraptor and Fukuisaurus that were introduced previously. Picture credit: Everything Dinosaur.

A Japanese Hadrosaur
Named and described based on a single, nearly complete specimen Kamuysaurus heralds from exposures of the Upper Cretaceous Hakobuchi Formation on Hokkaido. The dinosaur nicknamed the “Mukawa dragon” has been skilfully recreated by the design team at CollectA. The model possesses a small, straight nasal crest that extends to the top of the head, a feature remarked upon in the scientific paper when the rugose nature of the nasal and frontal bones was discussed. In contrast, the row of small spikes running from the back of the graceful neck to the very tip of the tail are speculative but they do not detract from the appearance of this replica.
Individual scales on the flanks and along the tail can be made out and the skin folds add to the realism of the figure. Picture credit: Everything Dinosaur.

Model Measurements
The CollectA Kamuysaurus measures 14 cm in length and it stands a fraction under 5.5 cm high. It is a relatively small model, but it has been beautifully painted and the individual scales on the well-sculpted flanks can be made out with the skin folds at the base of the tail adding realism.

Japanese Dinosaurs
The flash of bright yellow leading from the orbit (eye socket) to the side of the animal’s beak contrasts with the more muted tones of the belly and flank which indicate counter shading. The dark stripes present on the limbs and along the neck, back and tail give the impression that this dinosaur would have been well camouflaged, a good defence against predators – although palaeontologists have yet to uncover any evidence to suggest the presence of large, terrestrial predators that shared the same palaeoenvironment.
The CollectA Age of Dinosaurs Kamuysaurus model. A replica of a hadrosaurid from the Late Cretaceous of Japan. This new for 2021 dinosaur model is in stock at Everything Dinosaur.
The introduction of the CollectA Age of Dinosaurs Popular Kamuysaurus continues the trend of CollectA adding models of Japanese dinosaurs into their product portfolio. In 2019, a model of Fukuiraptor (F. kitadaniensis) an Early Cretaceous predator known from the island of Honshu was introduced. Approximately twelve months later CollectA added a Deluxe 1:40 scale version of the contemporaneous Fukuisaurus (F. tetoriensis).
A spokesperson from Everything Dinosaur exclaimed:
“It’s great to see another hadrosaurid model added to the CollectA range, even better to have a dinosaur representing the unique biota associated with the Late Cretaceous of Japan”.
The model has a row of small spines running from the back of the neck down to the tip of the long tail. These have been painted a magenta colour. Picture credit: Everything Dinosaur.
We at Everything Dinosaur, might know our dinosaur and prehistoric animal models, but every once in a while we come across a replica that simply takes our breath away. Rebor have produced three astonishing figures depicting science fantasy embryos entombed in resin.
These replicas entitled the Rebor Oddities Specimen: G-2016 Embryos are beautifully engineered and we wanted to mark the release of these limited-edition figures by producing a short YouTube video tribute.
The Rebor Oddities Specimen: G-2016 Embryo in Bakelite is a brilliant, science-fiction/fantasy model from Rebor. In our video we praise the model’s innovative design.

Only 500 of each type of model has been made and stocks of these fascinating figures are already low.
A spokesperson from Everything Dinosaur commented:
“Whilst we do not pretend to understand all the cultural references, we have had a lot of orders from Asia for these stunning figures. We might be more used to examining a T. rex foetus as per a previous Rebor model introduction, but we have been bowled over by these beautifully figures. They certainly are very different.”

The Rebor range of prehistoric animal models and fantasy figures has expanded since its first production run some eight years ago. Rebor have produced some amazing and highly innovative figures and if these three limited edition replicas are anything to go by then model collectors are going to have some exciting times ahead.

The new for 2021 CollectA Deluxe Mamenchisaurus dinosaur model is now in stock at Everything Dinosaur. This is one of the biggest sauropod figures that CollectA have made and this beautifully detailed replica has certainly impressed model fans and collectors.

Scale Dinosaur Model
CollectA have declared a scale of 1:100 for their Mamenchisaurus. As the model measures around 40 cm in length this figure represents a dinosaur that would have measured approximately 40 metres, this is perhaps a little too large for most of the Mamenchisaurus species named to date.
The model has been exquisitely designed. The neck is slightly curved and the small head is turned towards the animal’s left shoulder. This pose gives the model a more natural look, the animal is moving along and looking towards its left as it walks. The head has been beautifully crafted, the nostrils are visible and the mouth is open displaying the small teeth. There were teeth present all along the jawline and this has been accurately portrayed in the CollectA model.

Fine Detail of Scales and Dermal Armour
As well as having a row of prominent spikes that descend from the back of the head down to the end of the tail, the design team at CollectA have added rows of raised scutes along the neck, flanks and down the tail of the figure. There is much to be admired in the fine skin texture and the limbs have been proportioned to reflect the fossil record. The claws and toes have been painted in the same tan tone as the spikes and this realistic dinosaur model has been given a cloaca.
The dermal scutes and raised scales on the model can be clearly seen in this photograph. Picture credit: Everything Dinosaur.

An Asian Sauropod
It is refreshing to see CollectA create a scale model of a Chinese sauropod rather than a replica of a sauropod associated with western North America and the Morrison Formation. Due to the large number of fossils assigned to this genus, thanks to huge numbers of bones found in Shaximiao Formation exposures (Sichuan Province, China), Mamenchisaurus is one of the best known of all the Jurassic members of the Sauropoda. It is great to see a mainstream manufacturer such as CollectA make a model of this dinosaur.

Highly Recommended
The figure has been given a small defensive club on the end of its tail, reminiscent of Shunosaurus. There may be some debate as to whether this dinosaur possessed such a club, fused caudal vertebrae in at least one specimen does suggest that a tail club was present.
All in all, this is a very detailed model and it is a very welcome addition to the CollectA Deluxe model range.

The W-Dragon Giraffatitan is certainly a very impressive figure. Team members at Everything Dinosaur have received a number of enquiries regarding this replica over the last few days and one of the most common questions we get asked is just how big is the Giraffatitan model?
The enormous W-Dragon Giraffatitan dinosaur model. The figure stands a fraction under 44 cm tall.
Always Trying to Help our Customers
We try our best to help our customers and we have responded to all the enquiries that needed a reply. We can confirm that this 1:35 scale dinosaur model measures approximately 38 cm in length and that the superbly detailed head is around 43.5 cm in the air.
Comparing the W-Dragon Giraffatitan to the Papo standing T. rex dinosaur model. Although the Papo T. rex is a substantial figure in its own right it looks small compared to the enormous W-Dragon Giraffatitan replica. Picture credit: Everything Dinosaur.
Providing model measurements is sometimes not enough. In order to demonstrate the size of the W-Dragon Giraffatitan we placed it behind a Papo standing T. rex. The Papo T. rex figure is quite a sizeable figure, but it is dwarfed when compared to the enormous Giraffatitan model.
W-Dragon Giraffatitan compared to a Papo standing T. rex dinosaur model. Given the size difference between the largest tyrannosaurs and the largest brachiosaurs, these two figures work quite well together in terms of scale. Picture credit: Everything Dinosaur.
When the size of the largest tyrannosaurs is related to the biggest members of the Brachiosauridae family, the Papo T. rex and the W-Dragon Giraffatitan compare quite well to each other in terms of scale.
Whilst the likes of Giraffatitan (the Brachiosauridae too), had been extinct for millions of years before the super-sized tyrannosaurs evolved, the two models photographed together does give the viewer an insight into the “scale” of the problem the large theropod dinosaurs that co-existed with brachiosaurs had to face if they wanted to bring down one of these leviathans.

Whilst the lighting in the packing room that we used to set up the shots may not be that great, we were able to send out these images to customers who had asked for more information about the size of the W-Dragon Giraffatitan.
We even include a Giraffatitan fact sheet with says of this colossal figure too.
Our thanks to dinosaur fan and model collector William who sent into Everything Dinosaur a review of the latest Eofauna models, the Triceratops dinosaur models “Cryptic” and “Dominant”.
The Eofauna Scientific Research 1:35 scale Triceratops models do battle (Cryptic and Dominant).
Eofauna’s first two releases of 2021 are of the spectacular Triceratops “Yoshi’s Trike” after it’s discoverer Yoshi Katsura. Unearthed in 2010 now housed within the Museum of the Rockies.
Yoshi’s Trike” (MOR 3027), is a very large Triceratops specimen with nearly four foot long horn cores. Yoshi belongs to yet an undescribed Triceratops species “Ugrosaurus olsoni “, older than either Triceratops horridus or Triceratops prorsus but sharing intermediate characteristics of both*.
In life “Yoshi” was 3 metres at the hip and weighed 9.5 tonnes. It’s these little touches that makes Eofauna so beloved of collectors of accurate figures.
Dominant (Brown) and the Variant Cryptic (Blue)
Both come in polybags with horn protectors with Eofauna stats cards with the same beautiful artwork.
Length: 9.1/4 inches.
Height: 3.1/2 inches.
Scale: 1/35.
Both figures stand rock solid, no toppling issues etc.
A superb, compact modern body recreation of an active true life Triceratops. Both figures are sculpted with open mouths with exact detailing such as teeth and the openings to the nasal passages and the tongues are correctly held within the mouth. With the classical ceratopsian beaks.
Both “Yoshi’s” are posed in a sparring stance as though a younger bull is testing the herd’s old bull for any weaknesses. Never will you see such a pair of Trikes adorned with such an impressive a set of horns perfectly sculpted and in life a true terror for all the local tyrannosaurs and to tangle with 4 metres of keratin covered doom would be for the fool hardy or a veteran rex.
The nasal horns are as equally good on the money a shorter back profile with a longer forward facing straight profile. Nostrils are spot on with a double ridge of skin and now on towards the body’s dermal areas.
From the nostrils a ripple of skin processes radiating outwards in a more scaled mosaic pattern from the lower jaw to the tails end and sturdy powerful legs with fully detailed toes with correct toe numbers on each.
A triple fold of skin highlights a beautifully intelligent eye no old time slow moving rhino analogue here.
A more expertly detailed entire body you shall run your hand over from folds of skin on the entire body to variation of the scaling every detail pinpointed on these two figures.
The neck frill has the same texturing of scales with the leading edge enforced with keratin frill bosses.
Looking at the Colour Variations
DOMINANT:
Nasal horn and upper/ lower tips are of a rich dark chocolate.
Main horns, eye folds and side panels of the mouth are of a dark caramel cream with horn tips black.
Neck frill and horn bosses are the same chocolate as the beak.
The inside of the mouth is a rich dark pink with a dark wash and white teeth top/bottom.
Carefully placed is the dark orange pattern placed at the leading edges of the neck frill.
A dark orange eye with a black pupil.
From lower throat downwards of the backs of front limbs and insides of the hind legs and under belly to the lower part of the tail all painted in dark brown broken up at the front with a rich dark ginger.
This same rich ginger covers the majority of upper torso and tail – excellent choice.
All toenails painted in a natural horn colour.
The Eofauna Scientific Research Triceratops dinosaur model – “Dominant”.
CRYPTIC:
Nasal horn and upper/lower tips are of a rich grey.
Main upper head and eye folds and side are of a dark chocolate with a dark yellow nasal panel with a wash over it.
Horns are of a dark grey fading into a caramel beige at the tips.
The neck frill’s base colour is a dark ginger with turquoise blue admixed through out, the frill bosses are dark brown.
The inside of the mouth is a rich dark pink with a dark wash and white teeth top/bottom.
The lower part of the jaw and throat and underbelly and tail are of a beige-cream with some dark chocolate stripes below the eyes and upper part of the lower jaw again a dark wash has been applied.
A vibrant orange eye with a black pupil.
From the shoulders to the middle of the back and then continuing onwards to the very tip of the tail a very rich brown covers this entire dermal area.
The flanks of the side are of a light ginger/tan.
All four legs are of a pale blue with a greyish dark wash applied, very eye catching this is more of an alpha male in all aspects.
All toenails painted in a natural dark horn colour.
The Eofauna Tricertops sp. model (Cryptic).
At this moment I wish to thank Sue and Mike and their entire team at Everything Dinosaur HQ.
We your customers/friends wish to thank you all for being the company we all respect.
Thank you for being our friends and thank you for being EVERYTHING DINOSAUR.
Team members at Everything Dinosaur thanked William for sending in his review. One point to make about the temporal range of this, as yet to be described Triceratops species,* – the fossils associated with this transitional form have been found in strata older than T. prorsus but younger than Triceratops horridus.
Thank you to William for sending into Everything Dinosaur this review.
William added:
“All Eofauna’s figures are available here from our good friends at EVERYTHING DINOSAUR.”
The PNSO Domingo the Carnotaurus dinosaur model has already attracted rave reviews from collectors and fans of dinosaur models. This 5-star rated figure has been described as “a beautiful model, at this moment the most accurate depiction of Carnotaurus” and “an amazing model, both colour and sculpt are stunning” by reviewers on Everything Dinosaur’s website.

An Articulated Lower Jaw
Like a lot of the new theropod figures from PNSO, Domingo the Carnotaurus has an articulated lower jaw. The model designers have been careful to depict those famous horns over the eyes (from which this dinosaur’s name is derived, due to their superficial similarity to the horns of a bull). The colouration chosen shows evidence of countershading and the use of black stripes gives this figure real presence. Although the jaw of Carnotaurus is relatively small and delicate, the designers have taken heed of the fossil evidence and equipped their model with a narrow jaw, located in a disproportionately deep skull.

A spokesperson from Everything Dinosaur commented:
“Fans of dinosaur models and figure collectors have really been looking forward to the arrival of the PNSO Domingo the Carnotaurus replica. It had a lot of hyperbole to live up with some collectors stating that PNSO was the most improved model manufacturer on the market. With the first reviews for this new for 2021 figure posted up on our website, it seems that collectors have not been disappointed.”

Recently we were contacted by a collector in Russia who wanted to add to his Rebor figure collection by acquiring a Rebor GrabNGo T. rex dinosaur model.
The Rebor GrabNGo range was launched in 2019 with the introduction of the amazing Komodo dragon replica, a stunning half metre long model of the largest living lizard in the world. Our Russian customer wanted one of the Tyrannosaurus rex figures that were introduced into this range last year, specifically the Rebor GrabNGo T. rex dinosaur model – type A.
Our customer asked whether we could help him by taking photographs of the model before he made his purchase on-line. Our dedicated team members were happy to do this. We would pick out a Tyrannosaurus rex model for him, photograph it and set it aside on our reserve shelf in our warehouse. The customer could then place his order and we would than marry up his order with the model reserved for him and send it out.

A Spectacular Figure
Measuring around 43 centimetres in length and with that beautifully painted sail some 22 centimetres off the ground, this is a spectacular dinosaur figure. The model is surprisingly heavy. It is made from a combination of PVC and resin, the resin component is concentrated in the legs and the centre of the body providing stability and ensuring that the legs on this stunning theropod do not warp over time. The figure is so stable that it can balance without the need for its display base.

The combination of PVC and resin permits this dinosaur model to be extremely stable. The W-Dragon Spinosaurus can stand without the need to place it on its display base. Picture credit: Everything Dinosaur.
Fantastic Details on W-Dragon Spinosaurus Dinosaur Model
The figure has been skilfully crafted. Individual scales can be seen and the skin texture with its folds and creases is exceptional. The colour scheme is superb and we appreciate the attention to detail such as the clear indication of an ear opening and the carefully painted green eyes. Even the different sized teeth and their position in the jaw have been carefully replicated to provide an accurate representation of the dentition associated with the upper and lower jaws as found in the fossil record.
