Two Haolonggood Brontosaurus figures are coming into stock at Everything Dinosaur. Each model will be supplied with a display base. The models are in 1:35 scale and each figure will measure over forty-five centimetres in length.

Two New Haolonggood Brontosaurus Figures

These new Haolonggood Brontosaurus models are the latest, large sauropod figures to be introduced by Haolonggood.  Recently, Haolonggood have introduced Alamosaurus, Argentinosaurus and Brachiosaurus replicas.  As with previous sauropod models, the two Brontosaurus models will be supplied with a display base.

The two Brontosaurus figures are:

• Haolonggood Brontosaurus Xie Ying Deng (brown colour version).
• Haolonggood Brontosaurus Du Weng Zhong (grey colour version).

Two Display Bases

The batch of Brontosaurus figures coming into Everything Dinosaur will be supplied complete with a display base.  Each base has been skilfully painted.  In addition, the base has a replica of a prehistoric plant incorporated within it.  From the images that Haolonggood have supplied, it looks like a small cycad.

The head of each figure is over eighteen centimetres off the ground.  When the model is placed on a display base the figure will stand over twenty centimetres high.

“Brontosaurus is from the Late Jurassic of the United States.  Named and described by Othniel Charles Marsh in 1879, the holotype specimen of B. excelsus is on display at the Peabody Museum of Natural History at Yale University.”

Our chums at Haolonggood have announced that they will be introducing three Giganotosaurus figures.  The Haolonggood Giganotosaurus models will be in stock at Everything Dinosaur before the end of the year.  Each figure measures thirty-five centimetres in length.  Those beautiful nasal crests are some eleven centimetres off the ground.

Haolonggood will be introducing three Giganotosaurus colour variants. HLG-162 Giganotosaurus Guan Sheng (top), HLG-163 Giganotosaurus Lin Chong (middle) and the Haolonggood special colour version (HLG-165) bottom.

New Haolonggood Giganotosaurus Models

Each figure is the same sculpt.  Furthermore, each figure will have an articulated lower jaw. It is the paint schemes that vary.  To help collectors, we have included images of all three Haolonggood Giganotosaurus figures in this article.

The three models are:

• HLG-162 Giganotosaurus Guan Sheng.
• HLG-163 Giganotosaurus Lin Chong.
• In addition, the Giganotosaurus Special Colour Version (HLG-165).

We suspect that the HLG-165 figure will only be available for a limited period.

The picture (above) is that of HLG-163, the Giganotosaurus figure known as Lin Chong.  It has been painted a mottled blue/grey colour.

A Special Colour Version of Giganotosaurus

Haolonggood usually produce a pair of figures. However, they intend to introduce a trio of Giganotosaurus models.  HLG-165 is the special colour version of Giganotosaurus carolinii.

The third Haolonggood Giganotosaurus figure to be featured in this article is HLG-165.  This is the special colour version.  At this time, we are not sure whether HLG-165 will be produced again.  Haolonggood tends to produce special editions, but these are only available for a limited time.

Everything Dinosaur will be stocking both colour variants of the recently announced Haolonggood Iguanodon model.  Mike and Sue are looking forward to receiving into stock the grey version and the brown version of this iconic ornithopod.  Each model measures twenty-six centimetres long.  The models have a declared height of ten and a half centimetres.

Haolonggood Iguanodon models are coming into stock at Everything Dinosaur. The inventory will include the brown coloured Iguanodon (Tao Zong Wang).

Mike commented that it was wonderful to see a modern interpretation of the second dinosaur to be scientifically described.  The two colour variants (grey and brown) are on the same shipment as the new Torosaurus and Shantungosaurus models.  The shipment is certainly ornithischian heavy!

Haolonggood Iguanodon Model Colour Variants

Although each version is the same sculpt, the colour schemes are very different.  Each Iguanodon has a different name.

• Tao Zong Wang – brown-coloured, 1:35 scale figure.
• Zheng Tian Shou – grey-coloured, 1:35 scale figure.

Two, new for 2025 Haolonggood Torosaurus dinosaur models are coming into stock soon. These ceratopsian models are in 1:35 scale.  Haolonggood have produced several ceratopsian figures recently.  These two new Torosaurus models are a welcome addition to their exciting model range.

Each model measures twenty-one centimetres in length. That magnificent frill is over eleven centimetres off the ground.

Haolonggood Torosaurus Dinosaur Models

These are fabulous ceratopsian figures.  Fantastic replicas of these Late Cretaceous, giant chasmosaurines.  The debate as to whether Torosaurus (T. latus) represents an extremely mature Triceratops continues. However, most palaeontologists consider the Torosaurus taxon is valid.

A Large Range of Haolonggood Dinosaur Models

Haolonggood Euhelopus Figures

These models measure twenty-six and a half centimetres in length.  Those majestic heads are approximately eighteen and a half centimetres off the ground.  Everything Dinosaur supplies a free fact sheet on Euhelopus.

Euhelopus fossils are known from Lower Cretaceous deposits from the Chinese coastal province of Shandong. It had a disproportionately long neck, and its forelimbs were longer than its hindlimbs, giving this sauropod a sloping back.  Size estimates vary.  For example, the Everything Dinosaur Euhelopus fact sheet cites a body weight range from 3, 500 kilograms to 15,000 kilograms.

The Term “Comb. nov.“

In 1929, Swedish palaeontologist Carl Wiman originally described and named the dinosaur Helopus, meaning “Marsh Foot.” He derived the name from the Greek words helos (meaning swamp), and pous (meaning foot). Therefore, the dinosaur’s name references both the marshy site where the fossils were discovered and Swedish swamp shoes that, according to Wiman, resembled the animal’s wide feet. However, the name Helopus was already in use for a bird species, as the Caspian tern had been named Helopus caspius.  The Latin term “comb. nov.” is associated with the Euhelopus taxon.  This stands for “Combinatio nova“, reflecting the fact that the formal, binomial name for this dinosaur was a new scientific name created from a pre-existing name for this animal.

Everything Dinosaur has confirmed that they will be stocking the new Haolonggood T. rex models.  These 1:35 scale tyrannosaur figures are due to be in stock later this spring. Dinosaur model fans can choose from the brown-coloured variant (Chao Gai) or the grey variant (Lu Jun Yi).  Both models measure approximately thirty-three centimetres in length.

A spokesperson from Everything Dinosaur confirmed that customers who contacted the company would be added to the priority reserve list for these two figures.

Haolonggood T. rex Models

There is one other Late Cretaceous tyrannosaurid dinosaur currently represented in the Haolonggood range.  The company has already produced a replica of Daspletosaurus (D. torosus). The Haolonggood Daspletosaurus models (Lu Zhi Sheng and Wu Song) also have a declared scale of 1:35. However, the new for 2025 Haolonggood Tyrannosaurus rex figures are about four centimetres longer.  This is in keeping with current scientific evidence that indicates that T. rex was larger than the geologically older Daspletosaurus taxon.

Each Brachiosaurus model measures fifty-nine cm in length. The head height is thirty-nine cm. Furthermore, these Haolonggood Brachiosaurus figures have a declared scale of 1:35. The Brachiosaurus figures are fantastic sauropod models. Everything Dinosaur supplies the Haolonggood Brachiosaurus models with a free Brachiosaurus fact sheet.  In addition, each Brachiosaurus figure will include a free Huayangosaurus model. Please note, we cannot specify which colour variant will be in each box.

Today is “Mother’s Day” a day to celebrate and honour mums around the world.  This day is also known as “Mothering Sunday” not every country recognises this day as a special occasion for mothers. For example, in Germany, “Mother’s Day” is celebrated in the second week of May. However, today we have an excuse to write about the remarkable member of the Hadrosauridae – Maiasaura.  Indeed, we can highlight the Haolonggood Maiasaura models that were introduced last year (2024).

Haolonggood in recognition of “Good Mother Lizard” supplied each adult Maiasaura with an accompanying juvenile figure.

Haolonggood Maiasaura Models

Haolonggood introduced two colour variants of Maiasaura (M. peeblesorum).  Both adult models are supplied with a juvenile Maiasaura figure.

In the image (above) the green coloured adult is Chun Hui. In contrast, there is also a Haolonggood Maiasaura model with a purple coloured tail.  This figure is referred to as Hua Di.

Maiasaura is a member of the Hadrosauridae subfamily Saurolophinae. The first fossil evidence of this dinosaur was uncovered in the Badlands of Montana (USA) in 1978. The fossil material is associated with the Two Medicine Formation (Upper Cretaceous). The location consisted of numerous dinosaur nests, eggs, baby Maiasaura, adults and juveniles. The location was renamed “Egg Mountain” and represents the fossilised remains of a Maiasaura peeblesorum nesting site.

Maiasaura was formally named and described by Jack Horner and Robert Makela (1979). The name means “Good Mother Lizard” and in contrast with the majority of the Dinosauria, it takes the female form of the Latin term for lizard – saura.  This location provided the first documented evidence that dinosaurs raised and fed their young.  Maiasaura babies were altricial.  This means that they required significant parental care.  These ornithopods were dedicated and devoted parents.
