New Rebor Quetzalcoatlus Models Coming into Stock

By |2026-02-04T22:11:21+00:00February 4th, 2026|Categories: Rebor Models and Figures|0 Comments

Everything Dinosaur team members Mike and Sue confirm that they will be stocking the recently announced Rebor Quetzalcoatlus figures.  Two colour variants will be available.  Each pair represents a different species in the Quetzalcoatlus genus.

The figures are:

  • Lead and Zeppelin – Floodplain version, the Rebor 1:35 scale Quetzalcoatlus northropi siblings two pack.
  • Gun and Ship – Plateau version, the Rebor 1:11 scale Quetzalcoatlus lawsoni siblings two pack.

The models will be in stock at Everything Dinosaur in the late spring.

Two Pairs of Rebor Quetzalcoatlus Models

Two species of Quetzalcoatlus have been described. Firstly, Quetzalcoatlus northropi which was named in 1975. A second species Quetzalcoatlus lawsoni was named in 2021 (Andres and Langston Junior).

Palaeontologists distinguish Quetzalcoatlus northropi from Quetzalcoatlus lawsoni primarily through differences in size, skeletal proportions, and the completeness of the known fossil material. Q. northropi represents a gigantic pterosaur, known from fragmentary remains including immense wing elements that indicate a wingspan exceeding ten metres.  In contrast, Q. lawsoni is represented by far more complete and articulated fossils yet belongs to a considerably smaller-bodied taxon with a wingspan estimated at around five metres.

Rebor Quetzalcoatlus lawsoni figures.

The Rebor Quetzalcoatlus lawsoni figures. The models have poseable, flexible necks and articulated beaks.

Researchers identify anatomical distinctions in the cervical vertebrae, limb proportions, and overall skeletal robustness, which support separation at the species level rather than reflecting growth stages of a single taxon. The validity of Q. lawsoni, formally described in 2021, has gained strong support within the scientific community because the referred specimens demonstrate consistent morphological differences and originate from multiple individuals, reducing the likelihood that they represent juvenile Q. northropi.

Nevertheless, some debate remains, as the extremely fragmentary nature of Q. northropi limits direct comparison.

Other Fossils Previously Referred to the Quetzalcoatlus Genus

Cryodrakon boreas, described in 2019 from material recovered from the Dinosaur Park Formation of Alberta, Canada, represents another giant azhdarchid. The fossils were originally thought to represent Quetzalcoatlus however, the material is geologically much older than Quetzalcoatlus fossils.  In addition, this taxon is based on several individuals, including a juvenile skeleton and large isolated elements, which collectively reveal distinctive traits, permitting the erection of a new genus.

The New Rebor Little Feet Beelzebufo Model

By |2025-12-26T19:00:11+00:00December 20th, 2025|Categories: Rebor Models and Figures|0 Comments

Everything Dinosaur stocks the second Rebor Beelzebufo replica.  This is the variant known as Little Feet. The Rebor Little Feet name likely inspired by the American rock band Little Feat. However, the model itself remains firmly rooted in vertebrate palaeontology.

This figure draws inspiration from the living horned frogs of the Ceratophryidae. When Evans, Jones and Krause described Beelzebufo in 2008, they proposed close links to these South American frogs. At the time, the broad skull and powerful jaws supported that idea. Subsequent research has cast doubt on the phylogeny of Beelzebufo ampinga. Some scientists now suggest a more complex evolutionary history. Therefore, Beelzebufo remains one of the most controversial prehistoric amphibians.

The New for 2025 Rebor Little Feet Beelzebufo Replica

The Little Feet replica reflects this scientific intrigue beautifully. It combines a compact pose with carefully observed anatomical detail. This makes it both educational and visually appealing.  It is great to see the ancient frog represented in model form.

Sue of Everything Dinosaur sums up this prehistoric amphibian model perfectly:

“The Rebor Little Feet Beelzebufo ampinga model is full of character and charm. The two variants reflect the current scientific controversy.  Little Feet is a fantastic addition for collectors who appreciate both accuracy and personality.”

The New Rebor Goo Goo Doll Beelzebufo Model

By |2025-12-26T18:26:38+00:00December 17th, 2025|Categories: Rebor Models and Figures|0 Comments

The new Rebor Goo Goo Doll Beelzebufo figure is impressive.  This is one of two scale models of Beelzebufo ampinga that have been introduced by Rebor.  It has an articulated jaw and articulated legs.  When the legs are stretched out the figure measures twenty-six centimetres in length.  The model has been given a coat of gloss to give the impression of moist skin.  It is a stunning model.

The Rebor Goo Goo Doll Beelzebufo Replica

We suspect that the name was inspired by the American rock band the Goo Goo Dolls.  Rebor have named several models after famous pop/rock groups or rock/pop songs.  The phylogeny of this taxon remains uncertain.  Hence the two model versions.  Goo Goo Doll reminds us of Ranoidea australis, a large frog native to northern Australia.  Beelzebufo ampinga might be distantly related to this species. However, the second model variant (Little Feet) has hornlets above the eyes reminiscent of the horned frogs of South America.  When first described, it was thought that Beelzebufo was related to the horned frogs of the Southern Hemisphere.

The exact taxonomic affinity of the Beelzebufo taxon remains uncertain. The image shows the 1:2 scale Rebor Beelzebufo ampinga Goo Goo Doll version in anterior view.

Mike from Everything Dinosaur stated:

“I am not sure which variant is my favourite.  Both figures show exceptional levels of detail.  The articulation enables collectors to put their prehistoric frog into a variety of poses.  We congratulate the design team at Rebor.”

An Impressive Scale Model

The Rebor Goo Goo Doll Beelzebufo model presents this prehistoric frog at an impressive 1:2 scale. It captures the broad skull and powerful jaws with striking accuracy. Fine surface detailing enhances the realism of the sculpt. As a result, this replica makes a striking and unusual centrepiece for any prehistoric animal collection.

The Remarkable Rebor Beelzebufo Pair

By |2025-12-26T09:47:30+00:00December 14th, 2025|Categories: Rebor Models and Figures|0 Comments

Everything Dinosaur team members examine the Rebor Beelzebufo pair.  Two remarkable 1:2 scale replicas of the Late Cretaceous prehistoric frog Beelzebufo ampinga.  Everything Dinosaur supplies a Beelzebufo fact sheet with these models.  These Rebor articulated figures are now in stock.

Two variants are available (see image above).  When first described by Evans, Jones and Krause (2008) it was thought this giant amphibian was related to the extant horned frogs of South America (Ceratophryidae family). However, recent research has cast doubts over the taxonomic position of this extinct taxon.

The Rebor Beelzebufo Pair

Each figure has an articulated jaw and articulated legs. When the legs are fully stretched out the model measures an impressive twenty-six centimetres in length.  The two Beelzebufo variants reflect different scientific views related to this Late Cretaceous amphibian.  For example, the brown coloured model (Little Feet) is reminiscent to the horned frogs of South America.  Whereas, the second figure (Goo Goo Doll) is similar in appearance to Ranoidea australis, a large frog native to northern Australia.

A spokesperson from Everything Dinosaur commented:

“These are two beautiful prehistoric frog models.  Congratulations to the design team at Rebor.  Furthermore, these two figures inspired us to commission our own Beelzebufo drawing for our fact sheet.”

Assembling the Rebor Swarm X-REX Radioactive Figure

This remarkable figure requires assembly.  The tail needs to be inserted into the body.  It can be a little tricky to accomplish.  However, at Everything Dinosaur we like to help and here is a guide to fitting the tail piece.

You will need, a kettle, a cup, a nail file and a small amount of vegetable oil, – olive oil from your kitchen is fine. If you have a hair dryer that would be helpful too.

  1. Check the tail end plug, make sure it is clean and smooth. Check the hole in the back of the model, make sure there are no burrs or other obstructions, bits of loose plastic that could make inserting the tail difficult. If there are any, simply remove them with small scissors.
  2. Take a nail file and gently file around the inside of the hole in the base of the model, to make sure there are no parts that could prevent the tail from being inserted properly.
  3. Blow into the hole to remove any filings.
  4. Boil a kettle and fill a cup with the boiling water. Take the tip of the tail (the plug) and put into the boiling water for 3-4 seconds. This will not harm the plastic but heat the plug and make it a little softer. Dry the plug and try to insert the tailpiece into the body. It should be easier to push it home.
  5. If you are still struggling, use the hair dryer to heat around the hole in the base of the figure. Dip the tail piece into the boiling water once again, dry the tail piece and try inserting the tail now that the hole and the tail piece have been heated up. The tail should be easy to push into place.
  6. If you are still not able to insert the tail, then heat the hole with the hair dryer, dip the tail piece plug into the boiling water to heat the tail plug. Then dry the tail plug and add a smear (a small amount of the vegetable oil to the plug. The vegetable oil is organic, it will not affect the plastic but lubricate the tail plug and make it easier for you to push the tail piece into place.

Following these steps should enable you to fit the tail into the body of the model. It is difficult and it takes some effort as the join is very snug.

An Alien Replica

The figure is the third alien replica introduced by Rebor.  Science-fiction fans are delighted.  Collectors are advised to take care when adding the spines and the small jaw accessory.  Hot water treatment or a hair dryer can help with the installation of these small pieces too.

Ultimate Do’s and Don’ts for Assembling the Rebor Kiss Island Figure

By |2025-09-19T07:19:58+01:00September 19th, 2025|Categories: Rebor Models and Figures|0 Comments

Discover the essential do’s and don’ts for assembling your Rebor Tyrannosaurus rex Kiss Island figure. Learn safe tips for fitting the tail, posing arms, and adjusting the jaw without damage.

If you want your Rebor Tyrannosaurus rex Kiss Island model to look its best, take a few minutes to examine the figure before attempting to assemble.  For instance, the tail piece can be difficult to insert into the body.  If you struggle to insert the tail, you could inadvertently damage the delicate arms of the model as you try to force the tail piece home.

Assembling the Rebor Tyrannosaurus rex Kiss Island Figure

Things could go wrong if you try to force the parts together.  You could damage the model, or you could injure yourself by pushing and twisting too hard. Instead, you should gently prepare each part before assembly.  To insert the tail, dip the tail plug in hot water, or heat it with a hairdryer.  In addition, you could add a tiny smear of vegetable oil to help the joint slide into place smoothly.

Straight out of the box, the arms can be stiff.  These too can be warmed with a hairdryer to loosen the plastic before posing.  Furthermore, you could treat the articulated jaw in the same way.  Please do not try to force the mouth open.

Mike from Everything Dinosaur commented:

“The 1/6th scale Komodo dragon figure was introduced in the autumn of 2019.  It quickly proved popular amongst model collectors and herpetologists.  The model appeals as it looks so realistic.  We took some photographs of the figure outside.  These photos highlight the quality of the figure. Sadly, the images have been stolen by a number of unscrupulous individuals and have been used to sell their own figures and models.”

The Rebor Komodo Dragon Model

The Rebor GrabNGo Komodo dragon also makes a wonderful replica of Megalania. Megalania (Varanus priscus) roamed Australia during the Pleistocene Epoch. It is thought to be closely related to the Komodo dragon. Size estimates vary but it is widely reported as being the largest terrestrial lizard known to science. The fragmentary nature of the fossil remains make it difficult to provide a definitive size. Most individuals were probably comparable in size to the extant Komodo dragon. However, some animals may have been much larger with body lengths of seven metres proposed. If the Rebor GrabNGo figure is used to represent Varanus priscus, then the model is in approximately 1/12th scale.

The New Rebor Beelzebufo Figures – Which do you Prefer?

By |2025-03-09T07:29:28+00:00March 9th, 2025|Categories: Rebor Models and Figures|0 Comments

Let’s take a closer look at the two new for 2025 Rebor Beelzebufo figures. Which one do you prefer?  There are two different versions of the Late Cretaceous prehistoric frog Beelzebufo from Rebor.  Each figure has amazing detail, and they are poseable.

Rebor Beelzebufo GooGooDoll shown in anterior view,

The exact taxonomic affinity of the Beelzebufo taxon remains uncertain. The image shows the 1:2 scale Rebor Beelzebufo ampinga GooGooDoll version in anterior view.

These two amazing prehistoric frog replicas in 1:2 scale are due into stock at Everything Dinosaur possibly around June (2025).

To view the range of Rebor figures in stock at Everything Dinosaur: Rebor Figures and Models.

Which Rebor Beelzebufo is the Most Scientifically Accurate?

We have received a number of questions about these two frog figures.  Collectors have asked us to confirm the model’s measurements.  The figures are slightly different sizes.

  •  Rebor 1:2 scale poseable Beelzebufo ampinga “GooGooDoll” Swamp Version measurements – length 13.5 cm, width 15 cm and height 7.5 cm.  With fully stretched limbs the figure measures around 26 cm in length.
  • Rebor 1:2 scale poseable Beelzebufo cornuta “Little Feet” Rainforest Version measurements – length 13.5 cm, width 15 cm and height 9.5 cm (hornlets).  With fully stretched limbs the figure measures around 26 cm in length.
Rebor Beelzebufo 1:2 scale model (Little Feet).

An anterior view of the new Rebor Beelzebufo 1:2 scale model (Little Feet). The known fossil material indicates that this Late Cretaceous frog had a blunt snout and a large, wide mouth.

As for which figure is the most scientifically accurate?  It is hard to say.  The taxonomy of this taxon remains disputed.  With two different and contrasting figures, Rebor have attempted to cover several bases. A case could be made for each figure being scientifically accurate.

When this huge, prehistoric frog was first described back in 2008 (Evans, Jones and Krause), it was thought that the jawbones indicating a huge mouth and a blunt head resembled frogs found today in South America – specifically the Ceratophyrinae (Sera-toe-fie-rin-aye). Several living members of this frog family possess horned eyelids.  This is why the “Little Feet” version has this feature.  However, not all members of the Ceratophyrinae have hornlets. However, the paint scheme chosen for the horned “Little Feet” version is a very close match to the original illustration that was provided with the 2008 paper.

See our blog post from 2008 which shows this illustration: Beelzebufo – The Frog from Hell.

Changing Views About the Taxonomy of Beelzebufo ampinga

Only one species in the Beelzebufo genus is currently recognised – B. ampinga.  Rebor has decided to give one of their figures a different species name.  The “Little Feet” version has been named Beelzebufo cornuta.

Scientists have recently challenged the taxonomy of Beelzebufo. Some researchers have suggested that Beelzebufo might be more closely related to the Pelodryadinae (Pel-oh-dry-ah-din-aye). These frogs lack hornlets. They are large, wide-mouthed frogs known from Australia and New Guinea (mainly). Many members of this family of frogs have adaptations for climbing, but no one has suggested that Beelzebufo was arboreal (as far as we know).

Since at this time, there is no real clarity regarding Beelzebufo taxonomy – just go with the Rebor figure you like the best.
