A New Chinese Ornithopod Model from PNSO

By |2026-01-02T18:58:47+00:00January 2nd, 2026|Categories: PNSO Age of Dinosaurs Models|0 Comments

PNSO announces a new Chinese ornithopod dinosaur model for 2026.  Everything Dinosaur will be stocking this figure (Lanqi the Lanzhousaurus) shortly. This herbivorous dinosaur was described in the Geological Bulletin of China in September 2005.  It is famous for having over-sized teeth, far larger than the teeth of similarly sized ornithopods such as Iguanodon bernissartensis.

PNSO Lanqi the Lanzhousaurus (L. magnidens) dinosaur model which is new for 2026. This ornithopod was formally named and described in 2005.

Lanqi the Lanzhousaurus

The model represents an Early Cretaceous ornithopod from central China.  It was a robust animal with an estimated body length of around ten metres and a body weight of approximately six tonnes.  The PNSO Lanzhousaurus model measures 25.8 cm in length.  We are not aware of any declared scale, but we calculate that based on an adult animal being around ten metres long, this figure is in roughly 1:40 scale.

PNSO Lanzhousaurus model measurements.

The Lanzhousaurus model measures over twenty-five centimetres in length.

The type specimen is reference number GSLTZP01-001, and it represents a partial skeleton with both cranial and postcranial material.  Remarkably, the bones of this dinosaur were preserved in 3D and do not have much lateral compression.  Its type locality is Zhongpu, Lintao county in Gansu Province.  It is thought the deposits from where the fossils were excavated date from the Barremian/Aptian.  When formally described (You, Ji and Li), Lanzhousaurus was differentiated from other iguanodontians in possessing extremely large teeth and a low tooth count per tooth row (fourteen). The dorsal neural spines were described as being moderately tall.

The Lanqi the Lanzhousaurus figure is supplied with a colour A3-sized Sci-Art poster and a full-colour, 52-page booklet.

Mike from Everything Dinosaur commented:

“We are delighted to see that this remarkable dinosaur is going to be added to the PNSO range.  It had the largest known teeth of any herbivorous dinosaur known to science.”

The New Rebor Little Feet Beelzebufo Model

By |2025-12-26T19:00:11+00:00December 20th, 2025|Categories: Rebor Models and Figures|0 Comments

Everything Dinosaur stocks the second Rebor Beelzebufo replica.  This is the variant known as Little Feet. The Rebor Little Feet name likely inspired by the American rock band Little Feat. However, the model itself remains firmly rooted in vertebrate palaeontology.

This figure draws inspiration from the living horned frogs of the Ceratophryidae. When Evans, Jones and Krause described Beelzebufo in 2008, they proposed close links to these South American frogs. At the time, the broad skull and powerful jaws supported that idea. Subsequent research has cast doubt on the phylogeny of Beelzebufo ampinga. Some scientists now suggest a more complex evolutionary history. Therefore, Beelzebufo remains one of the most controversial prehistoric amphibians.

The New for 2025 Rebor Little Feet Beelzebufo Replica

The Little Feet replica reflects this scientific intrigue beautifully. It combines a compact pose with carefully observed anatomical detail. This makes it both educational and visually appealing.  It is great to see the ancient frog represented in model form.

Sue of Everything Dinosaur sums up this prehistoric amphibian model perfectly:

“The Rebor Little Feet Beelzebufo ampinga model is full of character and charm. The two variants reflect the current scientific controversy.  Little Feet is a fantastic addition for collectors who appreciate both accuracy and personality.”

The New Rebor Goo Goo Doll Beelzebufo Model

By |2025-12-26T18:26:38+00:00December 17th, 2025|Categories: Rebor Models and Figures|0 Comments

The new Rebor Goo Goo Doll Beelzebufo figure is impressive.  This is one of two scale models of Beelzebufo ampinga that have been introduced by Rebor.  It has an articulated jaw and articulated legs.  When the legs are stretched out the figure measures twenty-six centimetres in length.  The model has been given a coat of gloss to give the impression of moist skin.  It is a stunning model.

The Rebor Goo Goo Doll Beelzebufo Replica

We suspect that the name was inspired by the American rock band the Goo Goo Dolls.  Rebor have named several models after famous pop/rock groups or rock/pop songs.  The phylogeny of this taxon remains uncertain.  Hence the two model versions.  Goo Goo Doll reminds us of Ranoidea australis, a large frog native to northern Australia.  Beelzebufo ampinga might be distantly related to this species. However, the second model variant (Little Feet) has hornlets above the eyes reminiscent of the horned frogs of South America.  When first described, it was thought that Beelzebufo was related to the horned frogs of the Southern Hemisphere.

The exact taxonomic affinity of the Beelzebufo taxon remains uncertain. The image shows the 1:2 scale Rebor Beelzebufo ampinga Goo Goo Doll version in anterior view.

Mike from Everything Dinosaur stated:

“I am not sure which variant is my favourite.  Both figures show exceptional levels of detail.  The articulation enables collectors to put their prehistoric frog into a variety of poses.  We congratulate the design team at Rebor.”

An Impressive Scale Model

The Rebor Goo Goo Doll Beelzebufo model presents this prehistoric frog at an impressive 1:2 scale. It captures the broad skull and powerful jaws with striking accuracy. Fine surface detailing enhances the realism of the sculpt. As a result, this replica makes a striking and unusual centrepiece for any prehistoric animal collection.

The Remarkable Rebor Beelzebufo Pair

By |2025-12-26T09:47:30+00:00December 14th, 2025|Categories: Rebor Models and Figures|0 Comments

Everything Dinosaur team members examine the Rebor Beelzebufo pair.  Two remarkable 1:2 scale replicas of the Late Cretaceous prehistoric frog Beelzebufo ampinga.  Everything Dinosaur supplies a Beelzebufo fact sheet with these models.  These Rebor articulated figures are now in stock.

Two variants are available (see image above).  When first described by Evans, Jones and Krause (2008) it was thought this giant amphibian was related to the extant horned frogs of South America (Ceratophryidae family). However, recent research has cast doubts over the taxonomic position of this extinct taxon.

To view the range of Rebor models and figures in stock: Rebor Prehistoric Animal Models.

Each figure has an articulated jaw and articulated legs. When the legs are fully stretched out the model measures an impressive twenty-six centimetres in length.  The two Beelzebufo variants reflect different scientific views related to this Late Cretaceous amphibian.  For example, the brown coloured model (Little Feet) is reminiscent to the horned frogs of South America.  Whereas, the second figure (Goo Goo Doll) is similar in appearance to Ranoidea australis, a large frog native to northern Australia.

A spokesperson from Everything Dinosaur commented:

“These are two beautiful prehistoric frog models.  Congratulations to the design team at Rebor.  Furthermore, these two figures inspired us to commission our own Beelzebufo drawing for our fact sheet.”

Discover Hugo the Taurovenator – A New Theropod Model from PNSO

By |2025-12-13T22:21:30+00:00December 13th, 2025|Categories: PNSO Age of Dinosaurs Models|0 Comments

PNSO has revealed Hugo the Taurovenator, an exciting new South American theropod model. This striking dinosaur figure is due at Everything Dinosaur in early 2026.  A single skull bone was once thought to represent a Mapusaurus. It was named and formally described as Taurovenator violantei in 2016 (Motta et al). However, subsequent fossil discoveries identified characteristics that demonstrated that the fossil material did indeed represent a different taxon and not a Mapusaurus.

The PNSO Hugo the Taurovenator model.

PNSO Hugo the Taurovenator dinosaur model.

The genus belongs to the carcharodontosaurid lineage of apex predators.  It has been classified as a highly derived member of the Carcharodontosauridae.  Furthermore, it is thought to have been one of the larger carcharodontosaurids, with a body length in excess of 10.6 metres.  Estimates of body weight do vary, but a weight of 5.7 tonnes has been proposed.

PNSO Hugo the Taurovenator Dinosaur Model

The new PNSO theropod figure measures twenty-six centimetres long. The model is posed as if it is crouching down looking at something on the ground.  In this pose, the tip of the tail is nearly twelve centimetres in the air.  It will be supplied with a full-colour Sci-Art poster and a fifty-two-page colour booklet.  The figure is due to be in stock at Everything Dinosaur early in 2026.

Taurovenator violantei skull material indicates that this theropod had thickened, rugose bosses over the eyes.  The skull is estimated to have been around 1.35 metres long. PNSO’s figure reflects these bosses, and they have been painted a bright orange colour to make the figure appealing to collectors.  Furthermore, the figure has lips and an articulated lower jaw.

The rugose projections above the eye and running along the top of the snout have been painted a bright orange colour.

Assembling the Rebor Swarm X-REX Radioactive Figure

This remarkable figure requires assembly.  The tail needs to be inserted into the body.  It can be a little tricky to accomplish.  However, at Everything Dinosaur we like to help and here is a guide to fitting the tail piece.

You will need, a kettle, a cup, a nail file and a small amount of vegetable oil, – olive oil from your kitchen is fine. If you have a hair dryer that would be helpful too.

  1. Check the tail end plug, make sure it is clean and smooth. Check the hole in the back of the model, make sure there are no burrs or other obstructions, bits of loose plastic that could make inserting the tail difficult. If there are any, simply remove them with small scissors.
  2. Take a nail file and gently file around the inside of the hole in the base of the model, to make sure there are no parts that could prevent the tail from being inserted properly.
  3. Blow into the hole to remove any filings.
  4. Boil a kettle and fill a cup with the boiling water. Take the tip of the tail (the plug) and put into the boiling water for 3-4 seconds. This will not harm the plastic but heat the plug and make it a little softer. Dry the plug and try to insert the tailpiece into the body. It should be easier to push it home.
  5. If you are still struggling, use the hair dryer to heat around the hole in the base of the figure. Dip the tail piece into the boiling water once again, dry the tail piece and try inserting the tail now that the hole and the tail piece have been heated up. The tail should be easy to push into place.
  6. If you are still not able to insert the tail, then heat the hole with the hair dryer, dip the tail piece plug into the boiling water to heat the tail plug. Then dry the tail plug and add a smear (a small amount of the vegetable oil to the plug. The vegetable oil is organic, it will not affect the plastic but lubricate the tail plug and make it easier for you to push the tail piece into place.

Following these steps should enable you to fit the tail into the body of the model. It is difficult and it takes some effort as the join is very snug.

An Alien Replica

The figure is the third alien replica introduced by Rebor.  Science-fiction fans are delighted.  Collectors are advised to take care when adding the spines and the small jaw accessory.  Hot water treatment or a hair dryer can help with the installation of these small pieces too.

Mike from Everything Dinosaur commented:

“We congratulate Rebor for their amazing design work. The head dome can be removed and there is a jaw accessory just like the alien creature from the movies. A great deal of care has gone into the design of the Rebor X-REX Swarm Radioactive scale model.”

New CollectA Prehistoric Animal Models for 2026 (Part 4)

By |2025-11-27T21:59:07+00:00November 28th, 2025|Categories: CollectA Age of Dinosaurs Popular and CollectA Prehistoric Life Models|0 Comments

Today, in our fourth and final part of the series looking at new for 2026 CollectA prehistoric animal models we introduce a phytosaur.  Specifically, a CollectA Colossosuchus techniensis is being added to the company’s model range.  This new phytosaur replica will be in stock at Everything Dinosaur sometime next year.  It is regarded as one of the largest members of the Phytosauria known to science. A length estimate of around eight metres has been suggested. The CollectA Colossosuchus model, is the first phytosaur figure that the company has made.

  • CollectA Other Prehistoric Animals Colossosuchus model measures 21 cm long (Kol-oss-oh-suk-us).
CollectA Colossosuchus model.

The CollectA Colossosuchus model shown in lateral view. This figure measures approximately 21 cm in length.

The CollectA Colossosuchus techniensis Model

It might superficially resemble a crocodile, but it was not closely related.  It was a large quadrupedal, carnivorous archosauriform from the Late Triassic of India (Tiki Formation).  The nostrils were located close to the eyes and not at the tip of the snout as in extant crocodylians.  It was heavily armoured and the CollectA figure has two rows of raised osteoderms running along its back.

Colossosuchus had fang-like teeth at the front of its jaws but much smaller, conical teeth further back in its mouth.  Earlier reconstructions of phytosaurs showed them with their belly close to the ground and the limbs held out sideways from the body.  However, numerous tracks assigned to the Phytosauria indicate that they walked with the body held off the ground.  The length of the digits and the presence or absence of claws are also different from modern crocodylians. Colossosuchus was formally named and described in 2023 (Datta and Ray).

The tip of the upper jaw projects downwards.

An Extensive Bonebed

Phylogenetic analysis nests Colossosuchus techniensis and other undescribed specimens from India within the sub-family Mystriosuchinae.  The bonebed yielded twenty-seven skull and jaw specimens and over three hundred postcranial fossils.  Scientist studying the fossils calculated that these were the remains of at least twenty-one individuals.  Most of the fossils represented subadults or juveniles.  However, some fossils indicate that Colossosuchus could reach a length of around eight metres.  It is one of the largest phytosaurs described to date.

It was probably an ambush predator feeding on smaller vertebrates, but the majority of its diet could have been made up of fish.

Intriguingly, at least two more phytosaur species lived at the same time in different parts of India.  The discovery of Colossosuchus highlights the rich and diverse fauna that inhabited the area that was to become India around 220 million years ago.  It offers a new insight into Late Triassic ecosystems.  It has been speculated that these fossils represent phytosaur diversification that coincided with the final stages of the Carnian Pluvial Event (CPE).

The CollectA Colossosuchus model.

The CollectA Colossosuchus figure. The large osteoderms on the throat represent a “gular shield”. This feature consisted of irregular plates that served to protect the throat.

The CollectA Colossosuchus Model Colour Scheme is Based on a Mugger Crocodile

Mike from Everything Dinosaur confirmed that this phytosaur figure will be in stock in 2026 and stated.

“I think the colour scheme for CollectA’s first phytosaur is based on the Mugger crocodile (Crocodylus palustris).  This is a nice touch as this crocodile is native to India and Colossosuchus probably filled a similar niche in the ecosystem.”

Haolonggood Announce New Sauroposeidon Models

By |2025-11-23T21:26:26+00:00November 23rd, 2025|Categories: Haolonggood Prehistoric Animal Models|4 Comments

Everything Dinosaur confirms that it will be stocking the recently announced Haolonggood Sauroposeidon models.  These special figures will be supplied with a base, a sixty-centimetre-tall model tree and two pterosaur figures.  In addition, each box will include a full-colour Sauroposeidon poster.  Once the initial batch run of these figures have been sold, the Sauroposeidon figures might be made again, but the accessories will not be included.

The models are:

  • HLG-185a Sauroposeidon Qing Shu Bao
  • Product code HLG 185b Sauroposeidon Xv Mao Gong
  • HLG 185c Sauroposeidon Heterochromatic version
A trio of Haolonggood Sauroposeidon models.

Three Haolonggood Sauroposeidon Models

Each Haolonggood Sauroposeidon model measures fifty-one centimetres high.  They are beautifully detailed sauropod figures. It is ironic that a model tree will be supplied with the initial production run, as when the fossilised bones were first discovered they were so big, they were thought to represent petrified wood.  This Early Cretaceous sauropod from North America is known from several fragmentary but partially articulated fossils.  Size estimates vary, but it has been suggested that this dinosaur could weigh more than forty tonnes.

The genus name translates as “Earthquake Lizard God”, a reference to its huge size and the Greek god Poseidon. Furthermore, it is the state dinosaur of Texas.

Haolonggood HLG 185c Sauroposeidon Heterochromatic version.

The HLG 185c Sauroposeidon Heterochromatic version rearing up to reach the top of the tree. Each Sauroposeidon figure stands 51 cm tall.

It was initially thought to be a brachiosaurid and closely related to Giraffatitan and Brachiosaurus. However, more recent analysis suggests it was more closely related to titanosaurs. It was scientifically described by Wedel, Cifelli and Sanders (2000). One species is currently recognised – Sauroposeidon proteles.  Sauroposeidon was one of the last known sauropods from the Early Cretaceous of North America.  Sauropods seemed to have become extinct in North America for some forty million years until their reappearance in the United States fossil record with Upper Cretaceous remains assigned to Alamosaurus.

To read an earlier article from Everything Dinosaur about this huge sauropod: The Amazing Sauroposeidon.

Sauropods could have remained in America, the lack of fossil evidence could be explained by a sampling bias or an absence of exposed surface strata that preserve remains. In the original scientific paper, the authors pointed out that the demise of sauropods from North America predates the radiation of flowering plants.  The extinction (if any) could not be as a result of the evolution of angiosperms.

This batch of Haolonggood Sauroposeidon model will be supplied with a sixty-centimetre-high tree model, two pterosaur figures and a full-colour Sauroposeidon poster.
