At Everything Dinosaur, we collect models too. The team behind the new Evolution T. rex figure includes fellow collectors and passionate dinosaur fans. As the scientifically accurate model moves through production, let’s explore the work that brings this incredible figure to life.

We commissioned a series of videos. Award-winning digital sculptor Glen Southern (Southern GFX) demonstrates how he builds a T. rex in 3D. The design follows fossil evidence to ensure scientific accuracy. Our team developed the new Evolution T. rex figure from the bones up. It is meticulous and painstaking work. Every stage focuses on evidence, creating a realistic and authentic Tyrannosaurus rex scale model.

In this short video (YouTube short), designer and digital sculptor Glen Southern outlines how the design is brought to life.  It is his job to interpret drawings and illustrations from team members and to visualise the dinosaur in three dimensions.  Glen’s extensive knowledge of software combined with his understanding of anatomy help to create a realistic, plausible theropod figure.
