Everything Dinosaur team members have posted up a short video reviewing the new Dino Hazard Irritator challengeri dinosaur model and explaining what needs to be done before this figure can be sold legitimately. The first part of the video, which has been posted up on the company’s YouTube channel, looks at the model in more detail and discusses the accessories supplied with it. In the second part of the video, the narrator outlines the product testing required in order to place a dinosaur model on the market.

In Everything Dinosaur’s brief YouTube video (duration 4:48), the narrator discusses the model and then explains the steps required in order to legally sell this figure.

Irritator challengeri

At over 30 centimetres in length, this is an impressive replica of a South American spinosaurid dinosaur. The model has an articulated lower jaw and it is supplied with a lungfish figure and an optional display base. This model, marketed under the brand Dino Hazard stands very well on its own without the use of the base, but if model collectors prefer, the figure can be displayed on its base, although Everything Dinosaur recommends that the model is glued permanently in place when this base is used.

Product Safety Tests

This model has to pass independent product safety tests (submitted for testing in June 2021). A spokesperson from Everything Dinosaur stated that a decision as to whether or not to stock this figure would be made by team members once the test report had been received. It was then a question of entering into negotiations with the manufacturer in order to secure this model prior to taking the models from the factory in China.

New Rebor G-2016 Embryos YouTube Review

By |2024-05-25T15:01:54+01:00April 25th, 2021|Adobe CS5, Dinosaur Fans, Everything Dinosaur Products, Everything Dinosaur videos, Main Page, Photos of Everything Dinosaur Products, Product Reviews|0 Comments

We at Everything Dinosaur, might know our dinosaur and prehistoric animal models, but every once in a while we come across a replica that simply takes our breath away. Rebor have produced three astonishing figures depicting science fantasy embryos entombed in resin.

These replicas entitled the Rebor Oddities Specimen: G-2016 Embryos are beautifully engineered and we wanted to mark the release of these limited-edition figures by producing a short YouTube video tribute.

The Rebor Oddities Specimen: G-2016 Embryo in Bakelite is a brilliant, science-fiction/fantasy model from Rebor. In our video we praise the model’s innovative design.

Limited-edition Figures

Only 500 of each type of model has been made and stocks of these fascinating figures are already low.

A spokesperson from Everything Dinosaur commented:

“Whilst we do not pretend to understand all the cultural references, we have had a lot of orders from Asia for these stunning figures. We might be more used to examining a T. rex foetus as per a previous Rebor model introduction, but we have been bowled over by these beautifully figures. They certainly are very different.”

How Would You Expand the Papo Model Range? That’s a Great Question

By |2024-05-22T20:55:57+01:00March 17th, 2021|Adobe CS5, Dinosaur Fans, Everything Dinosaur News and Updates, Everything Dinosaur videos, Main Page, Photos of Everything Dinosaur Products, Press Releases|1 Comment

Fans of the Papo prehistoric animal model range “Les Dinosaures”, will know that in 2021 there will be just two new figures added to this range. Like many model manufacturers the production plans of our chums at Papo have been affected by the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Papo are always keen to hear from model collectors, they know how enthusiastic and passionate you are about Papo, so Everything Dinosaur has created a short, ten minute video that explores how Papo could expand its prehistoric animal model range. Once we have discussed our suggestions, it’s over to you! Your chance to comment on the type of figures you want to see added to the Papo range!

Suggestions for Papo Figures

Everything Dinosaur has a close working relationship with Papo, in our short YouTube video (the video is 10 minutes long), we reveal what product options we have suggested to the French manufacturer. For example, we suggested that Papo might want to reintroduce a long retired figure such as the iconic green, standing T. rex replica.

Could Papo reintroduce their classic green, standing T. rex
Could Papo reintroduce a classic model such as the original green, standing T. rex figure (product code 55001)?

Visit the Everything Dinosaur website: Everything Dinosaur.

A Pteranodon Colour Variant?

In addition, Everything Dinosaur has proposed that Papo could introduce a colour variant of an existing figure such as the Papo Pteranodon or the Papo Triceratops. We note that a number of Papo fans have suggested other colour variants such as a new version of the huge Papo Brachiosaurus figure.

Could Papo introduce a Pteranodon colour variant?
Perhaps Papo could add a colour variant of the Papo Pteranodon figure. The new colour variant could be the male whilst the original figure could be the female.

A Juvenile Giganotosaurus?

One further suggestion Everything Dinosaur has made is to introduce a juvenile Giganotosaurus dinosaur model as a companion piece to the 2020 Papo Giganotosaurus figure.

The 2020 Giganotosaurus model attracted a lot of attention due to its posture, a smaller, juvenile figure could have a more scientifically accurate pose.

Everything Dinosaur suggests that Papo should introduce a juvenile Giganotosaurus model
Should Papo introduce a juvenile Giganotosaurus to accompany the adult model that was introduced in 2020?

A spokesperson from Everything Dinosaur commented:

“Papo are aware how passionate fans of their figures are when it comes to new replicas. The number of new models that can be introduced in 2021 has been limited due to the consequences of COVID-19. Our new YouTube video gives dinosaur model fans the opportunity to learn more about the Papo range and to propose novel ways in which this range can be expanded.”

Papo New Product Development – Teaser

By |2024-05-22T07:00:02+01:00March 13th, 2021|Dinosaur Fans, Everything Dinosaur News and Updates, Everything Dinosaur videos, Main Page, Press Releases|0 Comments

Everything Dinosaur team members have been working on another Papo inspired YouTube video and they hope to have it completed, edited and posted up on the company’s channel in a few days. This latest video is a follow up to a Papo prehistoric animal model video posted up a few weeks ago that examined the strategy behind Papo’s product development. This new video will develop these themes and look at the way in which the French figure manufacture can expand their product range.

Papo Megalodon and Young Smilodon

Papo will introduce two prehistoric animal figures in 2021. The models are a replica of a young Smilodon and a model of the fearsome prehistoric shark Megalodon (C. megalodon). Both models are projected to be available around quarter 4 (2021), but Everything Dinosaur and Papo are working hard to try and bring these two figures into stock a little earlier.

Papo Model Introductions 2015-2021

In Everything Dinosaur’s video, team members will look at the options Papo have to expand their prehistoric animal model offering. The video will also document how the Papo model range has expanded over the years.  It will also discuss Papo product development.

The graph above shows the number of new sculpts (new figures) as well as new colour variants that have been introduced by Papo since 2015. This year, (2021) Papo will bring out just two figures, neither of which are dinosaurs.

New Model Suggestions

Everything Dinosaur’s YouTube video will also give viewers the opportunity to suggest new figures that Papo might like to make. The video also challenges fans of dinosaur models to think of other ways in which Papo can expand its “Les Dinosaures” range.

PNSO Audrey the Lambeosaurus Video Review

PNSO Audrey the Lambeosaurus Video Review

The latest additions to the PNSO mid-size model range have really got dinosaur fans and prehistoric animal model collectors excited.  Everything Dinosaur has worked with PNSO for many years, in fact we have the longest trading relationship with this company outside of China.  Audrey the Lambeosaurus is one of fourteen new for 2020/21 prehistoric animals that have been produced.  It is a very impressive hadrosaur model with a beautiful, reticulated colour scheme.  The figure has been given a gloss coat, so it has a wet-look appearance.  As one of our favourite PNSO figures, we have produced a short video review of it for our YouTube channel.

Everything Dinosaur Highlights the PNSO Lambeosaurus (Audrey the Lambeosaurus)

We recommend our YouTube video channel, it is crammed full of video reviews of prehistoric animal replicas, hints and tips and it also gives collectors the opportunity to suggest new dinosaur models.  Here is a link to the Everything Dinosaur YouTube channel: Everything Dinosaur – YouTube.

Audrey the Lambeosaurus

In the short video review (the YouTube video lasts just over two minutes), the Lambeosaurus packaging is shown and then the dinosaur model is placed on our turntable so that viewers can see this figure from all angles.  We comment on the reticulated patterning and explain what inspired the design team at PNSO to use this colour scheme and design.  In addition, we confirm the figure’s measurements and suggest a scale (based on Lambeosaurus lambei) of around 1:30 for this dinosaur model.

The Video Provides Detailed Model Measurements

A 1/30th Scale Hadrosaur Model

Although PNSO do not declare a scale for their mid-size prehistoric animal figures, in the Everything Dinosaur video we propose a suggested scale as well as showing close-up views of the superb detail on the dinosaur model.  The clear, glossy coat that has been applied gives the hadrosaur a wet-look.  This is most noticeable around the head and that distinctive hatchet-shaped head crest.

The New ITOY Studio Paraceratherium Product Testing

By |2024-06-10T10:48:15+01:00December 31st, 2020|Dinosaur Fans, Everything Dinosaur News and Updates, Everything Dinosaur Products, Everything Dinosaur videos, Main Page, Photos of Everything Dinosaur Products, Product Reviews|0 Comments

ITOY Studio Paraceratherium Product Testing

Everything Dinosaur promised the company’s Facebook, Twitter and other social media fans/followers an update on the amazing ITOY Studio Paraceratherium figure before the end of the year (2020).  True to our word, we have posted up a short video on the Everything Dinosaur YouTube channel.  In the video, the narrator explains about product testing for these prehistoric animal replicas and if all goes to plan, the Paraceratherium models will be in stock at Everything Dinosaur early in 2021.

ITOY Studio Paraceratherium Product Testing

A Quick YouTube Paraceratherium Preview

Before Everything Dinosaur can bring the ITOY Studio Paraceratherium models into stock, the figures have to pass product safety tests, but this doesn’t stop us giving you a quick preview of the Paraceratherium.  In the video we showcase both variants:

  • ITOY Studio Paraceratherium – Deluxe (model supplied with polystone display base)
  • ITOY Studio Paraceratherium – Elite (model supplied without polystone display base)

The Paraceratherium Model with Display Base (Deluxe)

The Deluxe ITOY Studio Paraceratherium replica (with display base).

The ITOY Paraceratherium model (Deluxe) is supplied with a polystone display base. Picture credit: Everything Dinosaur.

For prehistoric animal models and figures: Prehistoric Animal Models and Figures.

What a fantastic model it is!  The detail on the figure is simply amazing!  It is incredibly life-life with beautiful skin folds and creases.  It is big too, the model measures over 40 cm long and the display base is a generous 32 cm in length and over 14 cm wide.

Works with 1:20 Scale Replicas

Although no scale is declared for this figure, based on an adult Paraceratherium being around 8 metres in length with a height at the withers (just behind the shoulders), of 4.5 metres, Everything Dinosaur team members estimate that this replica is in approximately 1:20 scale.  So, it will work well with lots of other prehistoric mammal models, which are in the same or similar scale such as Mastodons, Mammoths, Sabre-toothed cats and Hyaenodonts.

Once Product Testing Has Been Completed Everything Dinosaur Intends to Bring this Figure into Stock

Paraceratherium Model Product Testing

As the authorised European importers of the ITOY Studio range, Everything Dinosaur has commissioned product safety tests with the highly respected Eurofins (independent testing company).  Once these tests have been completed and the ITOY Studio figures certified, Everything Dinosaur intends to bring these spectacular models into stock.

A spokesperson for Everything Dinosaur stated that they hoped that the test results would be available in a few days, once certified, the Paraceratherium figures would be available early in 2021.

New CollectA Models for 2021 Video Review

Everything Dinosaur has produced a video review of the last batch of new for 2021 prehistoric animal models to be introduced by CollectA.  In our final video in this series, we provide further information on the 1/40th scale CollectA Deluxe Dilophosaurus, the 1/20th scale Doedicurus replica and the stunning Pravitoceras, an ammonite associated with the Late Cretaceous of Japan.

Everything Dinosaur’s Video Review – The Last Three New for 2021 CollectA Prehistoric Animal Models

Video credit: Everything Dinosaur

All three of the figures featured in Everything Dinosaur’s YouTube video will be available from the UK-based company in the middle of 2021.

CollectA Prehistoric Animal Models – Question of the Day

As with the other three videos that Everything Dinosaur has produced looking at the new prehistoric animal models from CollectA, the team have been keen to provide a little more scientific information about each model.   For example, with the new CollectA Deluxe 1:40 scale Dilophosaurus, the narrator explains why this figure has been give enlarged head crests.

The reasoning behind the lack of sharp spikes on the tail of the armoured Doedicurus is highlighted and when discussing the Pravitoceras figure the narrator comments upon the differences between homomorphic and heteromorphic ammonites.

In addition, we include a “question of the day” and on this occasion, in honour of the new for 2021 CollectA Deluxe Doedicurus we ask: “what other prehistoric mammal would you like CollectA to make a model of?”

The New CollectA Deluxe Dilophosaurus is Based on the Latest Scientific Research

CollectA Dilophosaurus, Doedicurus and the New Ammonite Figure Pravitoceras

CollectA will be adding a total of eleven prehistoric animal models to their already extensive product portfolio for 2021.  They will also add a new set of mini dinosaur and prehistoric animal figures that Everything Dinosaur reviewed in an earlier blog post and video: CollectA New Models for 2021 – Part 3.

In the Doedicurus section, the narrator looks at the closest living relatives of these extinct herbivores and comments how the first fossils of these beasts came to be scientifically described by such luminaries as Charles Darwin and Richard Owen.

A spokesperson from Everything Dinosaur commented:

“We have produced four videos in total.  Each video examines new for 2020 CollectA prehistoric animals and these videos along with more than 175 others can be found on the Everything Dinosaur YouTube channel.  In our last CollectA model review we looked at the scientific data that led to the revised Dilophosaurus dinosaur model, examined different types of ammonite comparing the 2020 CollectA Pleuroceras figure with the soon to be released Pravitoceras and highlighted the 1:20 scale Doedicurus.”
