New CollectA Prehistoric Animal Models for 2027 (Part 1)
Everything Dinosaur in collaboration with our chums at CollectA reveal the first, new CollectA prehistoric animal models for 2027. There is going to be a new CollectA Tyrannosaurus rex. In addition, CollectA will introduce a life-size model of the Late Jurassic pterosaur Anurognathus.
- Tyrannosaurus rex with movable jaw – challenging.
- CollectA Deluxe Anurognathus with movable jaw in 1:1 scale.
Both models will be available in 2027. Everything Dinosaur will provide updates on product availability and when they are due to arrive in stock.
CollectA Prehistoric Animal Models for 2027
The CollectA Tyrannosaurus rex with movable jaw – challenging has a beautiful colour scheme. In addition, we note scars, detailed scales and we think we spotted some bristle-like feathers on the back of the neck. Our congratulations to the design team. Moreover, we estimate the model to be around twenty-one centimetres in length.

The new T. rex figure shows some amazing detail, including fine scales and scars. In addition, is that the hint of bristle-like feathers on the back of the neck?
We think that this model will be part of the CollectA Age of Dinosaurs Prehistoric Life range. Furthermore, it is likely to be a replacement for the CollectA T. rex figure in green (88118). We suspect that the early Tyrannosaurus rex models including product code 88118 will now be retired.

The new for 2027 CollectA Tyrannosaurus rex with movable jaw – challenging stance shown in lateral view. Note the scars on the side of the snout. Is this an indication of face biting in tyrannosaurs?
The articulated lower jaw is well designed, and the animal has an overbite. There are scars clearly visible on the snout when the model is shown in lateral view. Could this be evidence of face biting in tyrannosaurs?
The theropod figure seems to be well balanced and there are no indications of any stability problems.
The new CollectA Tyrannosaurus rex with movable jaw – challenging stance could be available in the spring of 2027. We will do our best to keep collectors informed.
CollectA Deluxe Anurognathus Model with Movable Jaw
The second new figure to be announced by our chums at CollectA is a 1:1 scale replica of the pterosaur (A. ammoni). It too has an articulated lower jaw.
It is a replica in 1:1 scale, basically a life-size flying reptile replica, and it is great to see CollectA adding this figure to their pterosaur portfolio. It helps to emphasise what diversity there was amongst the Pterosauria. Although we are not aware of the model’s measurements, we estimate that the figure would be around ten to twelve centimetres in length. The model could sit comfortably in the palm of your hand.
Anurognathids are known to have different types of pycnofibres on their bodies. This anatomical feature has been carefully depicted by the design team. In addition, fossil specimens reveal pycnofibres on the wing tips. The model has pycnofibres on its wing tips too. Intriguingly, the little pterosaur has been given a pair of brightly coloured eyespots. They are located on the uropatagium. Although this is speculative, we see the presence of eyespots in many animals today. Perhaps, if this pterosaur’s camouflage did not work, it could startle a predator with its prominent eyespots.

The CollectA Deluxe Anurognathus model has a pair of vivid eyespots located on the dorsum of the uropatagium membrane.
