The Rebor Utahraptor Replica Features in the Everything Dinosaur Newsletter

A lot of Rebor replicas have come back into stock at Everything Dinosaur, so it was fitting that a number of these fabulous scale models were featured in the latest Everything Dinosaur newsletter that came out earlier this week.  The headline highlighted the 1:35 scale Rebor Wind Hunter replica (Utahraptor ostrommaysorum), a reserve list had been opened for this eagerly awaited model and collectors were soon emailed with the good news that this model was now in Everything Dinosaur’s warehouse once again, along with the Cerberus Clan set and the 1:6 scale Compsognathus replica (Sentry).

Rebor 1:35 Scale Utahraptor Replica

The Rebor 1:35 scale Utahraptor replica was the first “raptor” model that Rebor ever produced and it remains one of the most popular figures in this range.  Since “Wind Hunter” was launched, a number of dromaeosaurid models have been added, the focus has been on Velociraptor (V. mongoliensis), but this model of Utahraptor, a dinosaur that lived long before Velociraptor evolved, has been out of production for some time and it is great to see it back.

The second part of the Everything Dinosaur newsletter focuses on the superb PNSO Family Zoo range of models.  Firstly, there is the fantastic collection of ten animals from Asia.  These ten figures represent animals that are culturally very important to our species.  The hand-painted models include pandas, tigers, horses, brown bears, goats, wolves and dogs.   This collection is known as the “PNSO Family Zoo Ten Most Popular Asian Animals” and they are extremely hard to obtain.  Thankfully, Everything Dinosaur has brought a number of sets over from China, our stock even includes the rare pig model and the Siamese crocodile.

Everything Dinosaur Newsletter Rebor and More!

Subscribers to the Everything Dinosaur customer newsletter were treated to some privileged information last week when they got notice of the arrival of the new Rebor 1:18 scale Velociraptor replicas “Spring-heeled Jack” and “Alex Delarge”.  Many customers had already taken advantage of the company’s no hassle, no obligation product reservation service and they knew that these dinosaur models had been set aside for them.  Once the newsletter had been received, the orders for these two beautiful Velociraptor replicas started to come in.

The stunning Rebor 1:18 scale Velociraptor models are sold as a pair and they are also available separately.  Each model has an articulated lower jaw and the arms can be placed in various positions.  The dinosaurs measure around twenty centimetres in length and when put on the larger of the two metal rods that come with these figures, the model stands some twenty-five centimetres in the air.

Carnotaurus and Cards

The Everything Dinosaur customer newsletter also permits us to update subscribers when new stocks of existing models arrive as well as letting people know about new products.  The early August newsletter confirmed that fresh supplies of the popular Rebor “Crimson King” – Carnotaurus sastrei had arrived.  The company’s initial stock having sold out very quickly, however, with a new batch of abelisaurs safely put into the warehouse, fans of Rebor could acquire this theropod replica.  In addition, this newsletter allowed us to highlight a new range of dinosaur themed gift and greetings cards that had just arrived in stock.

Mojo Fun Models

Everything Dinosaur has introduced all thirty-one of the current figures made by Mojo in their “Prehistoric and Extinct” model range.  Unlike most other figure manufacturers, the Mojo range includes some recently extinct (or at least currently regarded as extinct), animals – creatures such as the Thylacine and the Quagga (a sub-species of Plains Zebra)*.  Naturally, the first model to be featured in the newsletter is the T. rex, specifically the green hunting Tyrannosaurus rex.  Mojo has a total of six “Tyrant Lizard King” replicas in its range, including a spectacular 1:40 scale model, which can be seen in the picture below (bottom right), as well as a model of a juvenile T. rex.

Mojo Fun – Animal Planet

Mojo was founded eight years ago (2009), the company focuses on the design and production of high quality models.  Better known as “Mojofun”, the first model range was introduced in 2011 and the company’s product portfolio has grown steadily since.  The enthusiastic Mojo team members have plenty of ambition, they intend to continue to create the finest quality models that they can and to increase the range of animals featured.

The thirty-one models in the “Prehistoric & Extinct” range represent a total of nineteen different creatures, all of them are either reptiles or mammals and they lived during the Mesozoic or the Cenozoic Eras.  The breakdown is as follows:

  • Dinosaurs = nine dinosaurs represented (4 carnivores and 5 herbivores).
  • Prehistoric Mammals = six animals are represented.
  • Recently Extinct* = two models (Thylacine – Tasmanian Tiger and the Quagga)
  • Marine Reptiles = one model (Tylosaurus)
  • Prehistoric Crocodile = one model (Sarcosuchus)

Several of the Mojo “Prehistoric and Extinct” models have recently been re-painted, allowing a number of new colour variants to be introduced.  The Mojo Parasaurolophus models are a case in point (see picture below).

Mojo Parasaurolophus Models (Biped and Quadruped)

Mojo Parasaurolophus dinosaurs.

The Mojo Parasaurolophus dinosaur models (biped and quadruped).

Studies of the fossilised bones of the duck-billed dinosaur Parasaurolophus indicate that this large, Late Cretaceous dinosaur was a facultative biped.  It probably spent most of its time on all fours, but when the need arose, for example, to flee an attacking tyrannosaur, this dinosaur could run using just its hind legs.  We congratulate Mojo for including two versions of Parasaurolophus in its model range – one in a bipedal pose, the other representing Parasaurolophus as a quadruped.

Mojo “Prehistoric and Extinct” Models

Almost as many mammal models are included in the ” Prehistoric and Extinct” range as dinosaurs.  Model collectors have seen the number of prehistoric animal models in production decline in recent years, the addition of figures such as the Mojo Smilodon, Deinotherium and the Entelodont Daeodon, to Everything Dinosaur’s inventory is very welcome.

A spokesperson from Everything Dinosaur commented:

“Mojo produces Velociraptor, Triceratops and Stegosaurus models and of course, this range offers a variety of tyrannosaurs, but one of the attractions for us is that Mojo also offers some of the less common prehistoric animals such as a Hyaenodon replica and a Brontotherium.  We know that these types of replicas are greatly appreciated by model collectors.”

To view the range of Mojo “Prehistoric and Extinct” models available from Everything Dinosaur: Mojo Prehistoric and Extinct Models.

Extinction*

The last known Thylacine (Tasmanian Tiger), died in captivity in 1936.  It is officially recognised as extinct, but a genetic research programme has been established for nearly twenty years with the aim of ultimately re-introducing these animals via cloning.  In addition, periodic sightings and reports of living Thylacines both from Tasmania and the Australian mainland have prompted a team of scientists to set camera traps in a remote part of northern Queensland to see if they can obtain evidence of a living population.  To read more about this: The Hunt for Tasmanian Tigers.

The Quagga Project was established in 1987 to reintroduce Quagga-like phenotypes via a selective breeding programme.

Everything Dinosaur has launched a brand new website and very good it looks to with visitors commenting on how easy it is to navigate, to search for items and the clarity of the images.  However, existing account holders may encounter a problem attempting to log into their accounts.  Not to worry, first we will explain why existing account holders might be experiencing a problem, next we will show you the simple solution.

Everything Dinosaur’s New and Upgraded Website

HTTPS versus HTTP

The address of the Everything Dinosaur website: Everything Dinosaur’s Website has been slightly changed.  If the old address is stored in your favourites or if you have it pinned to your tool bar, the link will still work and you can find us.  However, rather than the address of our website beginning “http” it now starts with “https”.  You can see this for yourself in your own browser when you visit our website.

In the picture above the address information of Everything Dinosaur is highlighted.

HTTP and HTTPS – What’s the Difference?

HTTP means “hypertext transfer protocol” the set of rules that computers use for sharing information on the internet.  HTTPS stands for “hypertext transfer protocol secure”.  Our new website is more secure, it is extra protection to help keep our customers and their information safe.  When a computer uses HTTPS to communicate, the data is scrambled to that no one in between two communicating parts of the world-wide web can read this data.

Existing Account Holders May Have to Change Their Password

Extra security is great, it’s all part of Everything Dinosaur’s customer service.  However, existing account holders may have to change their password in order to access their account.  The new HTTPS part of our address is, in essence, asking you to change your password to ensure that your data remains secure.

Changing Your Everything Dinosaur Password

Changing your account password on our new website is simple.  Here is what you need to do:

• Visit our new website at: Everything Dinosaur.
• On the right of the home page, near the top click on the “My Account” button

The account button on the Everything Dinosaur website.

The “account” button.

• When you click on the “My Account” button, you should land on the following page:

Resetting your password (Everything Dinosaur).

How to reset your password.

  • Click on the “lost your password” link (see above).
  • Put in your user name or email address and then you will be taken to the “reset password”, click on the button (highlighted above) and you will be sent an email with a link to set a new password.

Making a Password “Strong”

Here are some tips to make your password strong and secure.

  1. Use a unique password for each of your important accounts.
  2. Use a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols in your password.
  3. Don’t use personal information or common words as a password.

Within the “account settings” of your own account you can reset your password and there is even a helpful “generate password” button which will automatically give you a new, strong password.

Remember: If you change any of the settings on your account, such as your password, remember to scroll to the bottom of the page and click the “save changes” button to save your updates.

The newsletter also featured details about a super dinosaur notebook that has been added to our “back to school” range of products.  This is bound to get young dinosaur fans roaring with excitement.  It is great for school and it will, no doubt, encourage junior palaeontologists with their handwriting.  Details on the feathered dinosaur exhibition is provided along with news of prehistoric mammal model re-issues, (that glyptodont, the Wild Safari Prehistoric World Doedicurus, for example).

It’s not just dinosaurs at Everything Dinosaur, we stock prehistoric mammals too: Models of Prehistoric Mammals.
