Exhibits of dinosaur fossils provide an opportunity to learn more about fascinating dinosaurs. However, sometimes it is hard for museum visitors to gain an appreciation of what the dinosaur looked like from the fossil bones alone. Whilst on a visit to the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin earlier this year, team members got the opportunity to examine up close a wonderful Allosaurus head sculpture. The model of a theropod head helps visitors to appreciate what Allosaurus looked like in real life.

The sculptor has taken great care and there is much to be admired in their beautiful reconstruction. Furthermore, this replica was placed close to Allosaurus fossil skull bones. The three-dimensional model brings to life an ancient Late Jurassic predator. The head was part of a section of the dinosaur gallery that highlighted fossil discoveries from Africa.
Mike from Everything Dinosaur commented:
“We were most impressed by the Allosaurus model head. The skin texture is amazing! Furthermore, this is a life-size replica, it gives an immediate impression of the size and the power of this famous theropod.”
