Exclusive Views of the CollectA Deluxe Magnapaulia Model
The brief period of fine weather has permitted us to take some photographs of the CollectA Deluxe Magnapaulia model outside. This splendid figure was introduced earlier this year. It is a 1:60 scale model of the giant lambeosaurine Magnapaulia laticaudus. It is already proving popular with dinosaur model collectors.

The CollectA Deluxe Magnapaulia Model
The CollectA hadrosaur figure measures a little over twenty centimetres in length. The impressive hump on the back is approximately nine centimetres off the ground. Although, the shape of the crest is unknown in this dinosaur it has been given a bright red crest that has been swept backwards from the skull. In addition, this excellent dinosaur model has a bright red wattle. This reflects the growing evidence for the presence of soft tissue structures in the Hadrosauridae.

Some fossils representing skin tissue impressions are known. The CollectA design team have worked hard to incorporate what is known about the integument of Magnapaulia into their figure.

Originally named as Lambeosaurus laticaudus in 1981, it was later assigned to the Hypacrosaurus genus. However, in 2012 it was given a distinct genus following a revision of the fossil material.
