Limited-edition Papo Spinosaurus Model Delayed until December (2019)
The eagerly anticipated limited-edition Papo Spinosaurus dinosaur model has been delayed until December (2019), according to information from Papo received by team members at Everything Dinosaur. Readers of this blog will probably recall that Everything Dinosaur published the first pictures of this spinosaurid figure back in February, however, model collectors and dinosaur fans will have to wait until December before they can get their hands on this Papo replica.

A spokesperson from Everything Dinosaur commented:
“We had been told back in the summer that this figure would be available in October, however, we have just been informed by Papo that this dinosaur will not be available until December. No reasons have been given for the delay and we don’t want to speculate about the reasons for this delay at this stage. However, all our plans are in place to contact all those people who reserved a model, everything is ready at Everything Dinosaur for the arrival of this figure. As soon as it comes in, we will be in touch with all those customers on our reserve lists, even if it means bringing in extra staff to ensure swift communications, at what will be, our busiest time of the year.”
If Everything Dinosaur receives any further information or updates about the Papo Spinosaurus dinosaur model, we will post this up onto this blog and other social media platforms.
The Scouts Return – “Melon”, “Hazelnut” and “Stan”
Everything Dinosaur has three of the very popular and very collectable Rebor Scout models back in stock. Our warehouse has received deliveries of “Melon” the baby Stegosaurus, “Hazelnut” the baby Triceratops and “Stan” the baby Velociraptor. Fans of the Rebor range will know that the Velociraptor figure is named after the Academy Award-winning special effects creator Stanley “Stan” Winston, who worked on the first three films of the “Jurassic Park” movie franchise.

Rebor Scout Models “Melon” and “Hazelnut”
Team members at Everything Dinosaur are not sure why the baby Stegosaurus and the baby Triceratops were named “Melon” and ” Hazelnut” respectively, however, why not give these two, highly detailed figures these names? It seems that unlike scientific nomenclature, anything goes when it comes to creating prehistoric animal replicas. Both the Rebor baby Triceratops and its Stegosaurus counterpart are in approximately 1:35 scale, whilst the Rebor Velociraptor figure is in 1:18 scale.

It is the attention to detail that makes these Rebor models stand out. Take for example, the display base that accompanies the 1:18 scale baby Velociraptor figure “Stan”. The base has footprint depressions that act as a guide to help dinosaur fans position their figure correctly. The footprints on the base have been carefully sculpted to represent what are thought to be dromaeosaurid prints found in the fossil record. We are sure ichnologists will approve!

Everything Dinosaur Handling UK and European Kickstarter Action Figure Rewards
With the launch of the Kickstarter campaign for the Beasts of the Mesozoic Ceratopsian series, these are exciting times for model collectors and dinosaur fans. Everything Dinosaur, the UK-based, specialist prehistoric animal mail order company is proud to have been associated with the Beasts of the Mesozoic range of collectable figures for several years and will be handling the fulfilment of all the Kickstarter action figure rewards for this prestigious campaign for Ceratopsian Kickstarter backers within the UK and European Union.
The Beasts of the Mesozoic Ceratopsian Series Kickstarter Has Launched
Beasts of the Mesozoic Ceratopsian Series. An exciting new range of articulated horned dinosaur figures.
Everything Dinosaur’s Involvement with Beasts of the Mesozoic
The involvement of Everything Dinosaur in the fulfilment aspect of the campaign further cements the close working relationship between the talented team behind Creative Beast Studio and the logistics experts at an award-winning company.
Dinosaur fans are going to be elated about this new Kickstarter project, but the design and build process is just one phase in meeting the needs of model collectors. Followers of the previous “Raptor” Kickstarter project will be all too aware of the difficulties that can arise during the production process. Once produced, other issues can be encountered as these models are despatched to project supporters.
By involving Everything Dinosaur in the fulfilment, supporters within the UK and Europe can be assured that their figures will be despatched by Everything Dinosaur from their European base. This substantially reduces the risk of customers incurring additional taxes, custom duties and tariffs.
What a Line Up! A Cornucopia of Ceratopsians
A selection of Beasts of the Mesozoic horned dinosaur models. The Kickstarter campaign outlines a schedule of ten models being released in September 2020, with a further eight new figures in March 2021. If all goes to plan, a third wave consisting of seven more dinosaurs will be available in September 2021.
Ceratopsian Figures Coming into Stock
As well as handling the fulfilment for European and UK customers, Everything Dinosaur will be bringing in their own bulk stock of these figures, this should ensure a swift and trouble free route for the models from the factory to UK warehousing without customs delays, thus ensuring that Kickstarter backers can receive their pledged items promptly.
In addition, as Everything Dinosaur will be carrying stocks of the Beasts of the Mesozoic ranges, fans can add to their figure collection easily and conveniently via Everything Dinosaur’s own website.

At Everything Dinosaur, our warehouse team despatch parcels to Europe and the UK all the time, our customers are well-used to our seamless and efficient delivery service.“
He added:
“Whilst we cannot guarantee that customers may incur additional expense in the form of duties and taxes, or indeed that international trading terms and conditions may change, in our experience when supplying European and UK customers from our UK warehousing we are have not heard of any problems arising . We take great care to ensure that parcels are labelled correctly and despatched appropriately, after all, we have a 5-star customer service rating from Feefo as well as an award for Gold Standard service.”

Everything Dinosaur team members have been taking an exclusive look at the up-and-coming Rebor Komodo dragon (Varanus komodoensis) model, which is the first in a new product line entitled “GrabNGo”. This is a beautiful, highly detailed model of the largest living lizard, which is sometimes referred to as the Komodo monitor.
The New Rebor GrabNGo Komodo Dragon (V. komodoensis) Replica

The model measures a fraction under 48 centimetres in length, but when the curvature of that impressive tail is taken into account the model’s true size is around half a metre, making this a 1:6 scale replica. The skin texture has been skilfully created with accurate folds and appropriately proportioned digits. The underside of the body and tail also shows lots of amazing detail and scales, particularly along the underside of the neck and jaw, although our figure lacks a cloaca. The production sample we were kindly sent does not have a CE mark so the skin texture is uninterrupted along the entire animal’s length.

Dragon Skin
The lightweight but reinforced hollow vinyl material gives this figure a very solid feel and the subtle painting provides the viewer with an impression of an expensive desk-top figure. The Komodo dragon is renowned for its tough hide. The skin of this lizard, which can reach lengths of up to 2.6 metres and weigh in excess of 70 kilograms, is reinforced by tiny dermal scales (osteoderms). It is thought that this armour helps to prevent injury when it attacks large prey or during intraspecific combat.
Skin Folds around the Belly Area and the Back of the Head – Komodo Dragon Model
This Rebor GrabNGo figure could also be used to represent the extinct giant goanna of southern Australia – Megalania (Varanus priscus, or sometimes referred to as Megalania prisca). It has been proposed that Megalania represents a sister taxon to the Komodo dragon and like its Indonesian cousin, it was an apex predator within the ecosystem. Size estimates for Megalania vary but studies of fossilised dorsal vertebrae suggest a length of around 6 metres. If this is the case, then the Rebor GrabNGo model would equate to a 1:12 scale replica.

Available Late September/Early October
The Rebor GrabNGo Komodo dragon is likely to be available before Christmas. Everything Dinosaur team members are doing all they can to ship this model in quickly.
The price is estimated to be around £15.99 plus postage (GBP).
Providing a Testimonial for the Chamber of Commerce
Last week, Everything Dinosaur was asked by our local Chamber of Commerce to provide feedback on the support we had received from the Chamber’s International Trade team. We were happy to oblige and team members spent part of the weekend composing a suitable press release. The Chamber of Commerce publishes a quarterly magazine and they wanted our permission to feature Everything Dinosaur in an article related to the Chamber’s support of exports and international trade.

The Chamber wanted between fifty and hundred words from members who had benefitted from their advice and support. The testimonials are to be included in an article about international trade in the next edition of the Chamber’s magazine.
The Everything Dinosaur testimonial states:
“The support and assistance of Jacqui [International Trade Manager] and her team has proved invaluable. We have relied on their expertise and advice to help shape our efforts to internationalise our business. Approximately, one third of all our mail order sales now come from overseas. The South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce has played a significant role in helping to shape the future direction of Everything Dinosaur.”
We have been featured in a number of magazines and other publications in recent years. After all, we now have thousands of customers all over the world. Team members are looking forward to seeing our contribution to this article in print in the next few weeks or so.
Everything Dinosaur and the New Payment Services Directive 2
Back in July, we wrote a short blog post about changes to the way in which credit/debit card payments will be processed from September 14th 2019. A new European Union directive is coming into force. Known as PSD2, it aims to bring in new laws to increase consumer protection across Europe. A key feature of this directive is the introduction of additional on-line security for ecommerce transactions.
Everything Dinosaur is Compliant with PSD2
Everything Dinosaur is compliant with this new directive, as you would expect, we have been planning for these changes for some months now and testing of the beta sites has been completed and the new framework placed on Everything Dinosaur’s live website. All has been sorted, everything has been prepared in readiness for the deadline of September 14th.

When PSD2 comes into effect next week, some customers may see some changes when it comes to paying for goods and services on-line. In essence, stronger identity checks may be required and the customers’ payment journey through an on-line check-out may look a little different.
Everything Dinosaur has thousands of customers all over the world. We are always delighted to hear feedback from our customers, here at home in the UK and of course, overseas. For example, we recently received this kind email from one of our customers in the United States, she had just purchased some Papo prehistoric animals and wrote to say:
“I just received my order from Everything Dinosaur and once again, I am just BLOWN AWAY at the quality and workmanship of the Papo dinosaur figures. I mean, truly blown away! They are so realistic! I really enjoy and appreciate the info sheets that accompany my order from Everything Dinosaur as well. I have been collecting for my four-year-old daughter since she was two years old. I loved dinosaurs myself as a little girl. I lived in Germany growing up and the toys in the stores there were top notch. I collected Schleich animals as companies really didn’t have nice dinosaur figures available like this then. It has been so fun sharing this love of dinos with my daughter and learning more about the prehistoric world through the toys we get her.”
Praise from Customers
Our thanks for the feedback and kind comments, Everything Dinosaur is a 5-star rated company as monitored by the independent survey company Feefo.

The “Famous Five”
With the addition of the Atlasaurus and the Deinotherium, this brings the total of Eofauna Scientific Figures to five. Eofauna Scientific Research is staffed by researchers, creatives and specialists with a focus on prehistoric fauna. The company has demonstrated expertise in the study of ancient members of the Order Proboscidea (elephants and their relatives), three of the five models produced so far are prehistoric elephants. The D. giganteum figure will be joining a Straight-tusked elephant (Palaeloxodon antiquus) and the first of this range to be introduced, a Steppe mammoth (Mammuthus trogontherii).
A Fact Card will be Supplied with the New for Autumn 2019 Eofauna Scientific Research Deinotherium Model
Eofauna Deinotherium (2019) will be supplied with its own Eofauna fact card as well as an Everything Dinosaur Deinotherium fact sheet.
The Eofauna Deinotherium giganteum
Deinotherium fossils are known from Africa, Europe and parts of Asia. It was not closely related to extant elephants or the Mammuthus genus. The Eofauna model shows the long legs and long, low skull associated with this genus. It is believed Deinotherium became extinct around 2.5 million years ago.
Everything Dinosaur has opened a priority reservation list for this figure, which should be in stock in October. To join our no obligation, priority reserve list for the Eofauna Scientific Research Deinotherium, just drop us an email: Email Everything Dinosaur.

Eofauna Deinotherium Model Measurements – Tale of the Tape
The new Eofauna Deinotherium model has a stated scale of 1:35. The model measures around 20 centimetres in length and stands and impressive 13 cm high.
Observant model collectors will note that this new figure is depicted on the move. Elephants do not have the gaits associated with faster moving, large mammals such as the trot and the gallop. Instead, when an elephant moves slowly, its limbs remain relatively straight and column-like. Locomotion studies have shown that when moving quickly, the limbs become more mobile and flexible acting like “pogo sticks”, helping the animal to maintain velocity. Even when moving at full speed, the four feet of the elephant do not leave the ground simultaneously, as opposed to the limbs of a horse when galloping.
