New Mojo Fun Dinosaur Models

By |2026-02-14T11:19:46+00:00February 3rd, 2026|Categories: Mojo Fun and Prehistoric and Extinct Animals|0 Comments

Mojo Fun introduces two new dinosaur models for 2026.  The figures are a Spinosaurus and a feathered Velociraptor.  The company has made models of these two dinosaurs before. Therefore, we expect earlier versions of these two dinosaurs to be retired.  The new Spinosaurus figure, like many Mojo Fun dinosaur models, has an articulated jaw.

Beautiful Hell Creek Tyrannosaurus Illustration

By |2026-01-29T07:27:07+00:00January 30th, 2026|Categories: Everything Dinosaur Evolution|0 Comments

Our thanks to talented artist Juan Plata who sent into us a wonderful illustration of the Everything Dinosaur Evolution Tyrannosaurus rex.  The illustration depicts the theropod looking at a small turtle that is basking on a rock.  The dinosaur leaves footprints in the soft sediment.  Perhaps these tracks will be preserved as fossils and discovered some sixty-six million years later.

Hell Creek Formation Everything Dinosaur Evolution T. rex illustration.

Walking along the shores of a lake, T. rex notices a turtle coming out of the water to rest on a rock. It will not eat it, but it is curious about it. The turtle is based on a recent find in the Hell Creek Formation, specifically a baenid turtle called Saxochelys gilberti. Picture credit: Juan Plata.

Everything Dinosaur Evolution Tyrannosaurus rex

The Everything Dinosaur Evolution T. rex model is a 1:33 scale replica.  It has been developed by palaeontologist Dr Dean Lomax, palaeo-reconstruction artist Bob Nicholls and award-winning digital sculptor Glen Southern.  Everything Dinosaur is now a manufacturer of dinosaur models. The model’s digital product passport permits amazing illustrations to be incorporated into the packaging.  Dinosaur fans can view the illustrations by scanning the smart QR code on the box.

Mike from Everything Dinosaur commented on the impressive illustration and stated that he was honoured to have the chance to add this beautiful drawing to their dinosaur’s digital product passport.

He added:

“I shared Juan’s artwork with Bob, Dean and Glen.  They were all amazed and delighted.”

A Baenid Turtle

The uppermost Cretaceous (Maastrichtian) Hell Creek Formation in North America has yielded a diverse assemblage of fossil turtles.  More than twenty-five taxa have been named.  Most of the taxa have been assigned to the now extinct Baenidae family. Juan has included a baenid turtle (S. gilberti) in the illustration.  These turtles were common in Laramidia, and it is very likely that Tyrannosaurus rex encountered these reptiles.  The species in the drawing Saxochelys gilberti was named and described in 2019 (Lyson, Sayler and Joyce).

Our Everything Dinosaur Evolution Tyrannosaurus rex towers over the freshwater turtle.  However, T. rex and the rest of the non-avian dinosaurs were soon to become extinct. In contrast, a turtle fossil assigned to Saxochelys gilberti was recovered from above the Cretaceous–Paleogene boundary layer.  This suggests that this baenid turtle species survived the end-Cretaceous extinction event persisting into the Palaeocene.

Our thanks to Juan, it is a beautiful illustration.

New Papo Edmontosaurus Model in Stock

By |2026-01-25T17:14:00+00:00January 23rd, 2026|Categories: Papo Prehistoric Animal Models|0 Comments

Everything Dinosaur stocks the new Papo Edmontosaurus model.  It is the first new Papo figure to arrive this year (2026).  Papo is a popular range with prehistoric animal model collectors.  The Edmontosaurus is beautiful, it is a fantastic colour scheme.

The Papo “Les Dinosaures” range includes several duck-billed dinosaurs. For example, Corythosaurus and Parasaurolophus.  Papo has added a row of spines running down from the back of the head down to the tip of the tail.  The mouth is open and the design team have added lots of detail.

To view the range of Papo prehistoric animal models in stock: Papo Prehistoric Animal Models.

The New Papo Edmontosaurus Model

The model measures over twenty-four centimetres long.  Papo does not declare a scale for their figures.  Moreover, it is difficult to determine how big this herbivore was.  However, the absence of a head crest suggests that this model could represent E. annectens. The largest individuals of this species could reach a length of thirteen metres. If a conservative twelve metre size is considered, then a model around twenty-four centimetres long would be in 1:50 scale.

Mike from Everything Dinosaur comments:

“The Papo Edmontosaurus model is a beautiful figure.  It has an expressive face, and the painting scheme is carefully applied.  This saurolophine is likely to be extremely popular with dinosaur model fans.”

News of Papo Model Retirements for 2026

By |2026-01-09T14:58:44+00:00January 9th, 2026|Categories: Papo Prehistoric Animal Models|0 Comments

At the start of the year, manufacturers review their inventories and production plans. Papo is no exception.  This French model manufacturer is busy making plans.  To this end, they have announced several Papo prehistoric animal model retirements.  Six figures are out of production and retired:

  • Plesiosaurus (model number 55021)
  • Carnotaurus (model number 55032)
  • Blue Oviraptor (model number 55059)
  • Therizinosaurus (model number 55069
  • Brown running T. rex (model number 55075)
  • Giganotosaurus (model number 55083)

Papo Prehistoric Animal Model Retirements

Of the six figures, the Papo Plesiosaurus and Papo Carnotaurus are the oldest.  For example, the Papo Carnotaurus was introduced in 2013. The blue Oviraptor figure came out in 2017.  It replaced a much older, brown version.  In a similar vein, the brown running Tyrannosaurus rex was launched in 2019, it was a new colour version of an older running T. rex figure. The Papo Therizinosaurus model was introduced in 2019.  It has proved to be a popular model.  The most recently introduced figure to be retired this year is the Papo Giganotosaurus.  It was launched in 2020.

The Papo Giganotosaurus figure attracts controversy. The choice of pose by the designers divides collectors. The pose does not reflect the posture attributed to a theropod dinosaur. However, many collectors find the “hugging posture” endearing.

Everything Dinosaur stocks Papo prehistoric animal models: Papo Prehistoric Animal Models.

Mike from Everything Dinosaur comments:

“Whilst we are genuinely sad to see these six Papo prehistoric animal models go out of production, they have enjoyed long and very successful runs and remain popular with collectors. At the same time, these retirements free up valuable production capacity, giving Papo the opportunity to focus on creating exciting new figures. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for this much-loved range.”

New Nanmu Studio Saltwater Crocodile Figures Announced

By |2026-01-07T09:44:56+00:00January 5th, 2026|Categories: Nanmu Studio Models|0 Comments

New Nanmu Studio saltwater crocodiles have been announced. A pair of articulated saltwater crocodile figures will be available in 2026.  Collectors and fans of Nanmu Studio can choose from the “Lord of Blood” or “The Omen King”.  The Nanmu Studio saltwater crocodiles have twenty-nine points of articulation.  Furthermore, the models measure around thirty-five centimetres long.  Based on an adult male saltwater crocodile measuring around five metres, we estimate a scale size of around 1:15.

These two crocodilians will be available late in quarter two or possibly quarter three.

Nanmu Studio offers two saltwater crocodile figures (“Lord of Blood” and “The Omen King”). Each model has twenty-nine points of articulation but a different colour scheme.

To view the extensive range of Nanmu Studio models offered by Everything Dinosaur: Nanmu Studio Models.

Models of Crocodylus porosus are a departure for Nanmu Studio.  The company normally focuses on extinct animals or replicas of prehistoric animals that have featured in movies.  However, the world’s largest crocodilian would certainly be at home in a world dominated by dinosaurs.  The phylogeny of ancestral crocodilians that led to modern, extant genera (Neosuchia) is disputed. Ancestral forms may have been present in the Early Jurassic.

The range of the saltwater crocodile is extensive.  It has the largest geographical range of any living crocodile.  These reptiles range from Sri Lanka, along the India coastline, through south-eastern Asia, Papua New Guinea and to the northern coast of Australia.  It is extremely aggressive and attacks on people do occur.

Two Nanmu Studio Saltwater Crocodiles

Each figure has twenty-nine points of articulation. The two figures have different colour schemes.  The “Lord of Blood” figure for example, has a greenish tinge.  The colouration of saltwater crocodiles can vary considerably.  It seems logical to offer two figures with different colouration.

Mike from Everything Dinosaur commented:

“Congratulations to the designers.  The Nanmu Studio saltwater crocodiles are fabulous.  If customers are interested in reserving one of these highly anticipated models, simply email us and we would be happy to alert you when they arrive in stock.”

The Largest Living Reptile

The saltwater crocodile is at home in fresh, brackish and saltwater.  It is sometimes referred to as the estuarine crocodile.  Males are bigger than females and the largest captive specimens can reach lengths in excess of six metres.  Even larger individuals have been reported. It is the largest extant reptile.

Sue from Everything Dinosaur praised the detailed Nanmu Studio saltwater crocodile figures and added:

“The engineering that has gone into these two crocodiles is remarkable.  They will look fantastic next to other Nanmu Studio articulated models.”

A New Chinese Ornithopod Model from PNSO

By |2026-01-02T18:58:47+00:00January 2nd, 2026|Categories: PNSO Age of Dinosaurs Models|0 Comments

PNSO announces a new Chinese ornithopod dinosaur model for 2026.  Everything Dinosaur will be stocking this figure (Lanqi the Lanzhousaurus) shortly. This herbivorous dinosaur was described in the Geological Bulletin of China in September 2005.  It is famous for having over-sized teeth, far larger than the teeth of similarly sized ornithopods such as Iguanodon bernissartensis.

PNSO Lanqi the Lanzhousaurus dinosaur model.

PNSO Lanqi the Lanzhousaurus (L. magnidens) dinosaur model which is new for 2026. This ornithopod was formally named and described in 2005.

Lanqi the Lanzhousaurus

The model represents an Early Cretaceous ornithopod from central China.  It was a robust animal with an estimated body length of around ten metres and a body weight of approximately six tonnes.  The PNSO Lanzhousaurus model measures 25.8 cm in length.  We are not aware of any declared scale, but we calculate that based on an adult animal being around ten metres long, this figure is in roughly 1:40 scale.

PNSO Lanzhousaurus model measurements.

The Lanzhousaurus model measures over twenty-five centimetres in length.

The type specimen is reference number GSLTZP01-001, and it represents a partial skeleton with both cranial and postcranial material.  Remarkably, the bones of this dinosaur were preserved in 3D and do not have much lateral compression.  Its type locality is Zhongpu, Lintao county in Gansu Province.  It is thought the deposits from where the fossils were excavated date from the Barremian/Aptian.  When formally described (You, Ji and Li), Lanzhousaurus was differentiated from other iguanodontians in possessing extremely large teeth and a low tooth count per tooth row (fourteen). The dorsal neural spines were described as being moderately tall.

The Lanqi the Lanzhousaurus figure is supplied with a colour A3-sized Sci-Art poster and a full-colour, 52-page booklet.

Mike from Everything Dinosaur commented:

“We are delighted to see that this remarkable dinosaur is going to be added to the PNSO range.  It had the largest known teeth of any herbivorous dinosaur known to science.”

The New Rebor Little Feet Beelzebufo Model

By |2025-12-26T19:00:11+00:00December 20th, 2025|Categories: Rebor Models and Figures|0 Comments

Everything Dinosaur stocks the second Rebor Beelzebufo replica.  This is the variant known as Little Feet. The Rebor Little Feet name likely inspired by the American rock band Little Feat. However, the model itself remains firmly rooted in vertebrate palaeontology.

This figure draws inspiration from the living horned frogs of the Ceratophryidae. When Evans, Jones and Krause described Beelzebufo in 2008, they proposed close links to these South American frogs. At the time, the broad skull and powerful jaws supported that idea. Subsequent research has cast doubt on the phylogeny of Beelzebufo ampinga. Some scientists now suggest a more complex evolutionary history. Therefore, Beelzebufo remains one of the most controversial prehistoric amphibians.

The New for 2025 Rebor Little Feet Beelzebufo Replica

The Little Feet replica reflects this scientific intrigue beautifully. It combines a compact pose with carefully observed anatomical detail. This makes it both educational and visually appealing.  It is great to see the ancient frog represented in model form.

An anterior view of the new Rebor Beelzebufo 1:2 scale model (Little Feet). The known fossil material indicates that this Late Cretaceous frog had a blunt snout and a large, wide mouth.

Sue of Everything Dinosaur sums up this prehistoric amphibian model perfectly:

“The Rebor Little Feet Beelzebufo ampinga model is full of character and charm. The two variants reflect the current scientific controversy.  Little Feet is a fantastic addition for collectors who appreciate both accuracy and personality.”
