Everything Dinosaur and One Stop Shop

On Thursday, July 1st new VAT rules for sales into the European Union come into force. Everything Dinosaur has registered for Import One Stop Shop (IOSS) enabling this UK-based company to comply with their VAT e-commerce obligations on distance sales of imported goods.

Everything Dinosaur and IOSS
Everything Dinosaur is ready for the start of Import One Stop Shop (IOSS). The thousands of Everything Dinosaur customers in the European Union can continue to rely on them for easy and straightforward deliveries to the EU.  Picture credit: Everything Dinosaur.

What is Import One Stop Shop (IOSS)?

IOSS facilitates the collection, declaration and payment of VAT for sellers that are making distance sales of imported goods to buyers in the 27 countries that make up the European Union. Everything Dinosaur customers based in the European Union will find very little change in the way that Everything Dinosaur handles their purchase, team members had already ensured that parcels could be despatched delivery duty paid (DDP) from the beginning of 2021 and they will continue to do so.

The subsidised fully tracked parcel delivery service to customers in the European Union will continue as before.

Royal Mail parcels being sorted.
IOSS will simplify VAT collection rules across the European Union. It also means that the exemption status for parcels valued at less than 22 euros excluding shipping will be removed.

Benefits for the Buyer

Import One Stop Shop makes the process of placing an order even easier for the buyer. Everything Dinosaur will only charge the customer at the time of purchase. There are no hidden or surprise fees when the goods are delivered to the customer in Europe.

If the retailer is not registered under IOSS, then the buyer will have to pay VAT and usually an administration/customs clearance fee charged by the delivery company.

Such fees and payments will have to be made in full before the parcel can be handed over.

What Parcels Does IOSS Cover?

The Import One Stop Shop covers the sale of goods from a distance that are:

  • dispatched or transported from outside of the EU at the time they are sold – so parcels sent from Everything Dinosaur’s UK warehouse need to comply (UK designated a third country).
  • dispatched or transported in consignments with a value not exceeding a total of 150 euros even if the order contains several items.
  • not subject to excise duties (typically applied to tobacco or alcohol products).

The End of the VAT Exemption for Parcels under 22 Euros in Value

From July 1st 2021, the VAT exemption for the importation of goods with a value less than or equal to 22 euros will be removed. As a result, all Everything Dinosaur sales to the European Union that are less than 150 euros in value will be subject to VAT. The amount of VAT for each transaction will be clearly stated at the checkout and shown on the invoice – all part of Everything Dinosaur’s policy on being transparent with its pricing.

The European Union and IOSS
Everything Dinosaur will be IOSS compliant.

If the retailer is not registered in the IOSS, the buyer has to pay the VAT and usually a customs clearance fee charged by the transporter.

Some Temporary Disruption to European Deliveries

As these new procedures are implemented, customers in the European Union might experience a short delay in the delivery of their parcel. Delays can be expected as couriers and national postal companies get used to these new regulations.

A spokesperson from Everything Dinosaur commented:

“Team members have done all they can to prepare for the beginning of IOSS. We have been registered and we are ready to operate under these new VAT simplification rules. However, we do anticipate that there will be some delays in the system. These delays will in part be caused by other companies not recognising what they must do in order to meet these new requirements. We apologise to our customers in the EU for any inconvenience caused.”

Today, Everything Dinosaur in collaboration with PNSO announce another exciting addition to PNSO’s mid-size model range – a stunning replica of the Late Jurassic theropod Torvosaurus. Say hello to Connor the Torvosaurus.

Connor the PNSO Torvosaurus is likely to be in stock at Everything Dinosaur later in the summer.

PNSO Theropod Dinosaurs

Hot on the heels of the recently announced Tarbosaurus figure comes news of this Torvosaurus replica, another fantastic figure of an apex predator for dinosaur fans and model collectors to drool over. Two species are currently assigned to this genus – T. tanneri which was formally named in 1979 and the European T. gurneyi. Torvosaurus gurneyi was scientifically described just seven years ago.

Fossil remains attributed to Torvosaurus have been found as far afield as the western United States, Portugal and possibly southern England, South America and Tanzania. There may be more species to be added but for the time being, dinosaur model fans have this beautiful PNSO replica to admire.

The latest addition to the rapidly expanding PNSO mid-size model range measures 29.5 cm long from the tip of its robust snout to the end of its lengthy, tapering tail. The model stands approximately 8.5 cm high. Although PNSO do not publish a scale size for their mid-size model range, Everything Dinosaur estimate that based on a fully grown adult size of around 10 metres, this dinosaur model is approximately in 1:33 scale.

PNSO to Add a New Tarbosaurus Dinosaur Model

By |2024-05-26T21:38:35+01:00June 11th, 2021|Categories: Adobe CS5, Dinosaur Fans, Everything Dinosaur News and Updates, Everything Dinosaur Products, Main Page, Photos of Everything Dinosaur Products, Press Releases|1 Comment

In a joint collaboration with PNSO, Everything Dinosaur is pleased to announce that a Tarbosaurus dinosaur model is being introduced into PNSO’s mid-size prehistoric animal model range. Say hello to Chuanzi the Tarbosaurus, the very latest addition to the ever-growing PNSO prehistoric animal portfolio.

This new dinosaur figure is likely to be available from Everything Dinosaur in the late summer of 2021.

Dinosaur fans and model collectors will be aware that PNSO have ramped up production considerably and numerous new figures have been announced since the end of 2020. Chuanzi the Tarbosaurus is the second member of the Tyrannosauroidea to be announced this year after Yinqi the Yutyrannus (April 2021). Eagle-eyed collectors will note that the Tarbosaurus figure is number 51 in this series, whilst Yinqi, which was announced earlier is number 52.

Tarbosaurus bataar

Named and described in 1955, Tarbosaurus (T. bataar) is one of the largest tyrannosaurids known. It is believed to have been slightly smaller than Tyrannosaurus rex, but closely related to the “tyrant lizard king”. Tarbosaurus measured around 12 metres in length and most body weight estimates suggest a figure of between 4,000 and 5,000 kilograms.

Model Measurements

Chuanzi the PNSO Tarbosaurus measures 31 cm in length and it has a head height of 11 cm. The recently introduced new Wilson the T. rex figure is slightly longer (34.5 cm long), so these two models can be displayed together to provide the viewer with a comparison between these closely related Late Cretaceous tyrannosaurs.

Available from Everything Dinosaur in the Summer (2021)

A spokesperson from Everything Dinosaur confirmed that they intended to stock this figure and that it should be available from them later this summer. They also stated that there were more prehistoric animal figures to be announced.

As Everything Dinosaur team members prepare for the arrival of the new for 2021 PNSO Helicoprion model a scale drawing of this strange fish from the Permian has been commissioned. Haylee the Helicoprion model is due to be in stock at Everything Dinosaur later in the summer (2021).

Helicoprion bessonowi

Three species in the Helicoprion genus are currently assigned, each one being distinguished from the others by variations identified in the distinctive tooth whorl. The size of this predator remains uncertain, although based on the morphology of other smaller related fish, Helicoprion has been estimated to have been around 5 to 8 metres in length. In the Everything Dinosaur scale drawing that we have prepared, our image indicates that this strange fish grew to lengths of around 7.5 to 8 metres.

Haylee the Helicoprion

As with the other mid-size PNSO replicas, this stunning model has been given a nickname. The figure is called Haylee the Helicoprion, Everything Dinosaur team members are not sure why Haylee was chosen; however, it is certainly a welcome addition to the PNSO product portfolio and we are looking forward to stocking it later on this year (2021).

PNSO Haylee the Helicoprion model measurements
The model measures 21 cm in length and from the base of the tail fluke to the top of the dorsal fin of the Helicoprion is 7.5cm

Model Measurements

The model measures around 21 cm in length and although PNSO do not declare a scale for this range of prehistoric animal figures, team members estimate that if Helicoprion was around 8 metres in length then this model would be in approximately 1:38 scale or thereabouts.

A spokesperson from Everything Dinosaur commented that they were looking forward to bringing this model into stock and they were also excited about making more new product announcements about PNSO models in the very near future.

PNSO to Add a New Kronosaurus Model

By |2024-05-26T10:58:31+01:00May 28th, 2021|Categories: Adobe CS5, Dinosaur Fans, Everything Dinosaur News and Updates, Everything Dinosaur Products, Main Page, Photos of Everything Dinosaur Products, Press Releases|0 Comments

PNSO will add a 1:35 scale model of a Kronosaurus to their scientific art range of figures. The marine reptile figure entitled Jeff the Kronosaurus will be in stock at Everything Dinosaur later in the summer (2021).

PNSO Jeff the Kronosaurus marine reptile model
PNSO Jeff the Kronosaurus – a close-up view of the mouth and a full body shot showing the new for 2021 marine reptile model.

Two Distinctive Kronosaurus Species

This monstrous short-necked pliosaur measured around ten metres in length. It was a fearsome, apex predator of Early Cretaceous seas (Aptian to Albian faunal stages of the Early Cretaceous) and two species have been named. Kronosaurus queenslandicus was formally named and described in 1924 and this Australian species was joined by Kronosaurus boyacensis from Columbia which was named in 1992.

Colouration of a Killer Whale

The new for 2021 Jeff the Kronosaurus model has a dark topside and a contrasting lighter, almost white shading underneath. Like extant Orcas (Orcinius orca), this colouration would help to break-up this predator’s outline in the water. The lighter underside would have been difficult to spot when viewed from below against a sunlit water surface. The dark markings on the top of the body, would have camouflaged Kronosaurus and made it difficult to pick out from the murky depths when viewed from above in the water column.

The colouration of Kronosaurus is unknown, but team members at Everything Dinosaur recognise that the design team at PNSO have been influenced by living marine animals when it came to Jeff’s colouration.

Coming in for the attack, the PNSO Kronosaurus marine reptile model.
The new for 2021 PNSO Kronosaurus marine reptile model.

Kronosaurus Model Measurements

The Kronosaurus model measures 24.6 cm in length and it is 13.1 cm wide across the rear flippers. Although the figure is stated as being in 1:35 scale, based on these measurements, the PNSO model represents and animal around 8.6 metres in length.

PNSO to Add More Stegosaurus Models

In the summer of 2021, Everything Dinosaur will be stocking the new Biber and Rook 1:35 scale scientific art dinosaur models from PNSO. These new dinosaur figures were announced yesterday and the box set will feature an adult Stegosaurus with a juvenile.

Biber is the name of the adult Stegosaurus figure and Rook is the epithet given to the baby armoured dinosaur. It is not certain whether the adult Stegosaurus in this set is a male or a female. The figures join an earlier PNSO Stegosaurus replica that was introduced in 2019. The adult Stegosaurus in this new set is a different figure to the 2019 Stegosaurus.

A Wide Range of Armoured Dinosaurs

Biber and Rook the Stegosaurus models are the latest editions to a wide range of armoured dinosaur models offered by Everything Dinosaur and PNSO. The PNSO portfolio includes Rosana the Miragaia, Qichuan the Tuojiangosaurus in the mid-size model range that were introduced in 2020 along with several smaller armoured dinosaur figures such as a Wuerhosaurus and a Kentrosaurus in the “Prehistoric Animal Toys that Accompany Your Growth” series.

The adult Stegosaurus (Biber) measures around 21.5 cm in length and those beautiful plates stand 11 cm high. Everything Dinosaur estimates that on this scale, the baby stegosaur (Rook) is about 5 cm long.

Representing Dinosaurs from the Famous Morrison Formation

PNSO have expressed a desire to introduce models that represent prehistoric animals from famous geological formations. These two new figures represent animals from the famous Morrison Formation of western North America. They join the likes of the recently announced Allosaurus figure (PNSO Paul the Allosaurus), as representatives of the dinosaur biota from the Upper Jurassic Morrison Formation.
