From today, 1st July 2026, new EU customs charges for UK retailers came into effect following the removal of the European Union’s long-standing customs duty exemption on consignments valued at €150 or less. Although these changes affect businesses exporting to the EU, Everything Dinosaur has already updated its shipping procedures to help ensure ordering remains straightforward for our customers.

These new customs charges do not apply solely to UK retailers. They affect every retailer based outside the European Union that exports eligible consignments into EU member states. This includes businesses in countries such as the United States, China, Canada, India, Australia and Japan.

The new duty applies to imports from all non-EU countries, regardless of where the seller is established.

Everything Dinosaur recognised these changes well in advance and updated its shipping procedures before the new legislation came into force, helping to ensure a smooth purchasing experience for our European customers.

Preparing for the EU Customs Charges for UK Retailers

To prepare for the new regulations, we have added a small fee to our handling charge for deliveries to the 27 EU member states. This reflects the new fixed €3 customs duty that now applies to eligible consignments entering the European Union.

International shipping regulations continue to evolve. Therefore, we closely monitor changes to customs legislation, import requirements and delivery procedures. Consequently, we can adapt our systems quickly and provide customers with accurate information before new rules take effect.

From tomorrow (1st July), new EU de minimis changes come into effect for parcels entering the European Union from countries outside the EU. Although the regulations have changed, Everything Dinosaur has been preparing for these new requirements for many months. As a result, our customers across Europe can continue to order with confidence.

The removal of the long-standing €150 customs duty exemption means that lower-value consignments including parcels sent into EU member states will now be subject to additional customs charges. These changes form part of a wider programme of customs reform designed to modernise the movement of goods into the European Union.

The Everything Dinosaur Evolution range represents an exciting new chapter for the company. For more than twenty years, Everything Dinosaur has helped enthusiasts, collectors and educators access scientifically accurate prehistoric animal models. However, the Evolution project takes this commitment a step further. The aim is to create museum-quality prehistoric animal figures that combine scientific accuracy with exceptional craftsmanship.

The first figure in the range is a 1:33 scale Tyrannosaurus rex. A team of scientists, artists and designers worked on the model. Furthermore, the project took more than three years to complete.

During the interview, Mike will explain how the team developed the figure. He will also discuss the importance of combining palaeontology and palaeoart when creating realistic prehistoric animal reconstructions.

It is true!  Sue speaking at DinoCon 2026!  We teased this on social media and today we can confirm that Sue Judd from Everything Dinosaur will be presenting at this year’s DinoCon. Building the Everything Dinosaur Evolution T. rex

The Everything Dinosaur Evolution T. rex became the company’s first in-house prehistoric animal model. The figure was developed with support from experienced palaeoartists and digital sculptors. Additionally, the project reflected Everything Dinosaur’s commitment to responsible manufacturing and long-term sustainability goals. The development process also highlighted the importance of community involvement. Feedback from collectors helped influence several stages of the project.  Indeed, this process is on-going and suggestions about which models to make next are welcome.

As a result, the award-winning 1:33 scale Tyrannosaurus rex model combined scientific research with practical design experience.

Have you ever wondered what ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity actually say about you?  In the fast-moving online world rapidly becoming dominated by artificial intelligence (AI) companies are having to navigate a new digital environment.  For example, for us at Everything Dinosaur, our website’s position in search engine queries is increasingly influenced by concepts such as AI optimisation (AIO) and generative engine optimisation (GEO).  Two more acronyms that we have to get used to.  Interestingly, AI insights for Everything Dinosaur yield extremely positive results.

But what do they mean?

This is all rather confusing to someone who would rather be looking at dinosaur models all day.  However, our reputation for customer service and our dedication to our customers seems to be putting Everything Dinosaur into a favourable position when it comes to how AI views us and our business.

For example, we were recently invited by Yoast, a European based search engine optimisation company to take part in an exercise to reveal how AI agents viewed our brand.  Intrigued, we submitted some basic information about us and the team at Yoast set about checking how leading AI platforms view Everything Dinosaur. In turn, these platforms help populate search queries.

The examination reveals overwhelmingly positive AI insights for Everything Dinosaur. In the analysis we scored 100% for our brand sentiment.

We might be living in an increasingly AI dominated world.  However, we remain true to our values.  For example, whilst we acknowledge the importance of making our websites AI friendly our priority remains keeping our sites easy to use for people.  As a company, we continue to receive high praise from customers.  We have thousands of Feefo and Google customer reviews.  New reviews are posted nearly every day.  Furthermore, we continue to retain a rating of “Exceptional”.
