New PNSO Theropods Feature in Customer Newsletter

The recently introduced PNSO theropods Albertosaurus, Gorgosaurus and Megalosaurus feature in our latest newsletter. All three dinosaur models are now in stock at Everything Dinosaur after the latest PNSO shipment arrived at the warehouse. The Albertosaurus dinosaur model is the first new PNSO figure to be featured. Wally the Albertosaurus makes the headlines.

PNSO Theropods

PNSO have recently focused on the manufacture of theropod dinosaur models. Tyrannosaurs have proved to be particularly popular. Joining the already in stock Daspletosaurus are Tristan the Gorgosaurus and Wally the Albertosaurus. In addition, the Chinese model manufacturer has introduced a replica of the first dinosaur to be scientifically described Megalosaurus bucklandii.

Both Tristan (Gorgosaurus) and Edward the Megalosaurus are supplied with a 64-page, full-colour booklet. Each model has a transparent support stand and both PNSO theropods have articulated jaws.

Tyrannosaurus rex and Amargasaurus

The latest PNSO shipment contained a lot of dinosaur figures that had recently become out of stock. Team members were able to contact customers who requested to be kept informed about stocking levels. Stocks of the popular Cameron the T. rex and the Scientific Art Amargasaurus were replenished.

New Haolonggood Dinosaur Models Set to Arrive

The first shipment of Haolonggood dinosaur models is due to arrive at the Everything Dinosaur warehouse on Wednesday, 20th September (2023). A spokesperson from the UK-based mail order company explained that the shipment had cleared customs. Transport had been arranged to deliver the Haolonggood dinosaur models to Everything Dinosaur. The models should be on-line and available for sale, either late on the 20th or by early Thursday morning (21st).

Haolonggood Allosaurus Figures

Haolonggood tend to create two colour variants of each prehistoric animal model that they manufacture. The picture (above) shows the new Haolonggood Allosaurus figures. The model on the left is Suochao, whilst the blue Allosaurus on the right of the image is Yangzhi. Both these Allosaurus models will be in stock at Everything Dinosaur.

The spokesperson commented that this was a substantial shipment and team members would do all they could to ensure the figures were available for sale on the company’s website as quickly as possible.

A Delightful Dicraeosaurus Scale Drawing

Everything Dinosaur has commissioned a Dicraeosaurus scale drawing to use in a fact sheet in anticipation of the arrival of the Haolonggood Dicraeosaurus model. The Haolonggood shipment is due to arrive at the company’s warehouse in a few days.

Dicraeosaurus Scale Drawing

The Haolonggood Dicraeosaurus sauropod model has a scale of 1:35. The figure measures a fraction under 36 cm long. It stands approximately 9.5 cm high.

Two species have been named. Both the type species Dicraeosaurus hansemanni and the potentially geologically younger D. sattleri are known from numerous skeletons, many of which are nearly complete. Dicraeosaurus had a short neck, and a relatively large head. The jaws were more robust than those of other diplodocids. It is likely that this sauropod fed on coarse plant material.

Dicraeosaurus is regarded as one of the largest of the dicraeosaurid dinosaurs. Palaeontologists estimate that it grew to a length of around fifteen metres.

A spokesperson from Everything Dinosaur commented that the team members were looking forward to the arrival of the Haolonggood models.

The spokesperson added:

“We expect the PNSO and Haolonggood shipments to arrive at our warehouse on the same day. It is likely that they will arrive next Wednesday [20th September]. We have made plans to ensure we can unpack the shipment rapidly and then get these sets of figures on-line quickly. We have also allocated some time that day to contact all those customers who wanted to be informed when the PNSO and Haolonggood figures arrived.”

The New PNSO Dayong the Yangchuanosaurus

The new for late 2023 PNSO Dayong the Yangchuanosaurus, a replica of a metriacanthosaurid theropod is coming into stock at Everything Dinosaur. The Yangchuanosaurus figure will be in stock in a few weeks. The Yangchuanosaurus is the latest theropod to be announced in PNSO’s mid-size model range.

PNSO Dayong the Yangchuanosaurus

Named and described in 1978 (Dong et al), Yangchuanosaurus was a member of the Allosauroidea superfamily. It was an apex predator, with some palaeontologists estimating that this dinosaur reached lengths in excess of ten metres. The new for 2023 Yangchuanosaurus is more sensibly proportioned. The model measures 22.5 cm in length.

Theropod Dinosaur Model with an Articulated Jaw

PNSO has already introduced models of Yangchuanosaurus. There is a small figure of Yangchuanosaurus, and it features in a 1:35 scale diorama with the stegosaur Chungkingosaurus. This is the first Yangchuanosaurus figure made by PNSO that has an articulated lower jaw.

Yangchuanosaurus Accessories

The model is supplied with an A3-sized Sci-Art poster along with a fully illustrated, 64-page colour booklet. A QR code on the packaging links to a product video. Dayong the Yangchuanosaurus is also supplied with a transparent support stand.

Wild Safari Prehistoric World Therizinosaurus

A Wild Safari Prehistoric World Therizinosaurus is to be added to the range of prehistoric animal figures offered by Safari Ltd. An image of this new theropod dinosaur model has been included in documents sent to Everything Dinosaur. A spokesperson for the UK-based mail order company explained that the figure was likely to be in stock early in 2024.

The Wild Safari Prehistoric World Therizinosaurus Model

Formally named and scientifically described in 1954 (Maleev), this dinosaur is famous for its huge hand claws. Size estimates vary, but some palaeontologists suggest Therizinosaurus could have reached a length of ten metres and stood around five metres tall. Fossils of Therizinosaurus cheloniformis are rare. This dinosaur’s body shape and size has been inferred by studying more complete specimens of smaller maniraptoran relatives such as Nanshiungosaurus and Erliansaurus.

Model Measurements

A spokesperson from Everything Dinosaur stated that the model had a length of 16.8 cm (6.6 inches). It stood 16.4 centimetres high (6.4 inches tall).

The spokesperson also confirmed that the Wild Safari Prehistoric World Therizinosaurus dinosaur model was likely to be in stock at Everything Dinosaur early in 2024.

New Schleich Dinosaur Models for 2024

Six new Schleich dinosaur models have been announced for 2024. These six new figures will be in stock at Everything Dinosaur by the middle of December 2023. Technically, these model introductions represent five brand new figures with what looks like to be a new colour version of the Schleich Brachiosaurus.

Schleich Dinosaur Models

The five new dinosaur figures are:

Allosaurus – a Late Jurassic theropod most famously associated with the Morrison Formation.
Bajadasaurus – a dicraeosaurid sauropod from the Early Cretaceous of Argentina.
Concavenator – a carcharodontosaurid theropod from the famous Las Hoyas fossil site in Spain.
Moros intrepidus – a small tyrannosauroid theropod from Cedar Mountain Formation exposures in Utah.
Stegosaurus – an armoured dinosaur also most famously associated with the Morrison Formation.

The sixth figure seems to be a new version of the Schleich Brachiosaurus model that was originally introduced in 2017. The Schleich Brachiosaurus figure has been praised for its tactile qualities.

The Schleich Brachiosaurus figure is reputed to be currently the top selling dinosaur model in the Schleich range.

In Stock at Everything Dinosaur December (2023)

A spokesperson from Everything Dinosaur confirmed that all six dinosaur models were due to be in stock by the middle of December (2023).

The spokesperson added:

“Over the autumn season we expect to be able to post up details of other new models from manufacturers. We expect to be able to announce news of new for 2024 Safari Ltd models. Later in the autumn we will be providing details about new figures from CollectA.”

Moros intrepidus

The early Late Cretaceous theropod Moros intrepidus is an interesting choice for Schleich. Named and described in 2019, Moros is known from fragmentary fossils including teeth and hind limb bones. The fossils were found in sediments representing the lower Mussentuchit Member of the Cedar Mountain Formation. Palaeontologists estimate that Moros lived around 96 million years ago. The apex predator role was still dominated by allosauroids. It was only later that tyrannosaurs took over the role of apex predators in North America.

An Exclusive Papo Kronosaurus Video Review

Photographs of the model have been taken and circulated on social media. In addition, the short YouTube video will highlight the finer details of this new replica.

Papo Kronosaurus

The Papo Kronosaurus is the second marine reptile figure to be introduced this year by Papo. It follows the Papo Mosasaurus figure that was introduced in the early spring. Both figures have articulated jaws and the Papo Mosasaurus will briefly feature in the Kronosaurus YouTube short.

Everything Dinosaur stocks a wide variety of Papo prehistoric animal figures. The Papo range, named “Les Dinosaures” has grown to incorporate dozens of dinosaurs, pterosaurs, prehistoric mammals and marine reptiles.

Everything Dinosaur team member Sue Judd has been asked to speak at an international business event organised by China Britain Business Council. The event hosted by KPMG is being held next month in Manchester. The prestigious event involving the China Britain Business Council, the UK Department for Business and Trade and the Manchester China Forum will explore opportunities for continuing UK/China commercial engagement.

Sue has been asked to speak about the prospects of developing more import and export opportunities. Her focus will be on business to consumer goods. Undoubtedly, dinosaurs will get a mention.

An Everything Dinosaur Team Member Mixes with the “Great and the Good”

Improving prospects along with the recent resumption of travel to China has permitted greater commercial engagement. The event aims to explore how companies can capitalise on the opportunities presented by China’s post-pandemic reopening. Many UK businesses have found huge success in the Chinese market. However, the world-wide economic slowdown, the global pandemic, and geo-political tensions have all had an impact on the environment for international business.

China remains the UK’s third largest trading partner. Trade between the UK and China was worth approximately £111 billion in 2022. The line-up of speakers from business, academia and government will discuss the prospects for trade with China. Presenters include Andrew Seaton, Chief Executive of the China-Britain Business Council and Gillian Drakeford MBE.

Sue Judd of Everything Dinosaur has played a significant role in helping to develop the company’s export success.

Feedback from Customers

The Everything Dinosaur warehouse and offices are notoriously cold. During the winter, team members wear the beanie hats to help keep them warm whilst picking and packing orders. Customers had spotted the stylish hats which featured in a number of company images. We received requests asking how these beanie hats could be purchased. The feedback from customers was listened to and a special, exclusive production run of the embroidered beanies was undertaken.
