Everything Dinosaur team members have produced a short video highlighting the features of the Rebor Deinosuchus model in the estuary colour scheme. The brief video, which is up on the company’s popular YouTube channel has been created so that potential customers can get a really good look at this limited-edition figure.

A spokesperson for the UK-based mail order company confirmed that they were planning to make more product showcase videos and to post them up onto Everything Dinosaur’s website.

Both limited-edition figures are highly collectable and when current stocks are sold, these models will not be put back into production.

A spokesperson from Everything Dinosaur stated:

Over the last few weeks, we have made several product video showcases that highlight Rebor models including the recently introduced Smilodon populator figures. Whilst we are unable to put up videos of every single item in the Rebor range we hope that the short videos that we have made provide customers with more information and allow them to appreciate the excellent quality of the models within this particular product portfolio.”

Everything Dinosaur team members have created a short, forty second video that highlights the PNSO Paul the Allosaurus dinosaur model. This replica of the Late Jurassic theropod Allosaurus has proved to be extremely popular amongst model collectors and dinosaur fans. Everything Dinosaur has set about creating short YouTube videos that are between thirty to sixty seconds in length that feature some of the prehistoric animal models that the UK-based company stocks.

The PNSO Paul the Allosaurus figure has been a top seller since it was introduced last year, so it was an obvious candidate for the company’s video showcase project.

Introduced in 2021, part of a substantial an enlargement of the PNSO not-to-scale mid-size model range, Paul the Allosaurus is also a firm favourite amongst Everything Dinosaur team members. The video showcase shows the figure on a turntable and demonstrates the articulated jaw. The packaging is shown and a team member holds the model so the size of the figure can be easily assessed. The model measurements (approximately 25 cm in length and around 9 cm in height), are also stated in the brief video.

Creating Videos to Help Customers

These short videos are designed to provide a “flavour” of the figure. The Everything Dinosaur website (and this blog), puts up lots of images of prehistoric animal models, but customers have requested videos and team members are busy compiling a library of short videos to provide customers with more information and to help them to make informed purchase decisions,

Rebor Smilodon “Ice Age” Video Showcase

By |2022-10-23T18:45:44+01:00January 30th, 2022|Adobe CS5, Dinosaur Fans, Everything Dinosaur News and Updates, Everything Dinosaur Products, Everything Dinosaur videos, Main Page|0 Comments

Team members at Everything Dinosaur have produced their second short YouTube video highlighting the features of a prehistoric animal model that the company has in stock. The first video showcase featured the Rebor Smilodon populator in the plain colour scheme, so it is only fitting that the second video in this new series should focus on another Rebor Smilodon figure, the Ice Age colour variant.

The forty-five second video shows the model, packaging and box contents. How easy it is to change the heads is demonstrated and the Smilodon figure placed on a revolving turntable is shown with the open jaws head and then with the closed head attachment.

The captions in the video provide details of the model’s measurements and confirm that the Smilodon figure has a declared scale of 1:11. Team members took advice from Rebor and from viewers of the first Smilodon video showcase to improve the lighting and exposure on the turntable footage to permit the colouration of the model to be shown clearly.

The exposure settings on the camera were also adjusted in a bid to help viewers to perceive the subtle colour variations of the Smilodon’s coat.

A spokesperson from Everything Dinosaur commented that the Rebor Smilodon populator Stray Cat model in the Ice Age colour scheme had been selected for the second video showcase after the very positive feedback the company had received after their first YouTube video which featured the plain colour variant.

The spokesperson went onto add:

“We intend to create more showcase videos of models and figures. Our plan is to embed these videos into the product pages of our company website so visitors can see videos as well as images of the models that we sell. We aim to provide as much information as possible to help customers to make an informed purchase decision.”

Rebor Smilodon “Plain” Video Showcase

A few days ago, team members at Everything Dinosaur announced that they were looking at adding short videos to the company’s website that could highlight prehistoric animal models and their features. A video was posted on Everything Dinosaur’s YouTube channel outlining these plans and asking for feedback on the idea. This YouTube video also featured the first of the Everything Dinosaur products to get placed into the spotlight, the Rebor Smilodon populator Stray Cat in the plain colour variant.

This forty-five second video showcase has been posted up on the channel as a separate, stand-alone item and it can be viewed (see below).

The Everything Dinosaur Rebor Smilodon populator Stray Cat in the plain colour scheme.

Demonstrating the Model

The idea behind these short, 30-60 second videos is that we can help customers to make informed purchase decisions. We do put up lots of images on our product pages, but the video will help us to demonstrate some of the features of the figure. For example, we can show the articulated jaw, poseable arms and the flexible tail. We can demonstrate how the model is put together as well as showing the box contents and the packaging.

These videos will help customers to get a really good look at the figure they are considering purchasing. Viewers will be able to gauge the quality and detail of a replica.

Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and we are grateful for all the comments that we have received. A second product video showcase, this time featuring the Rebor Smilodon populator Stray Cat in the Ice Age colour scheme will be posted up shortly.

Everything Dinosaur Video Showcase

We at Everything Dinosaur get lots of feedback and suggestions from our customers and we are grateful for the comments that we receive. We read them all carefully and where we can, we implement customer recommendations.

Take for example, a suggestion we have had from several of our customers – wouldn’t it be great if there were short product videos on the Everything Dinosaur website, so visitors could get a really good look at the item before buying. A video showcasing the prehistoric animal model would help a potential customer to make an informed purchase decision.

Everything Dinosaur listens to its customers, we aim to create short 30-60 second videos and embed them into our website.

Here is a short YouTube video that explains our plans and reveals the first figure to receive a “video showcase” – the Rebor Smilodon populator Stray Cat in the plain colour version,

Should Everything Dinosaur put short Product Videos on its Website? Everything Dinosaur asks customers for their comments.

Rebor Smilodon populator Video Showcase

As well as seeing images supplied by the model manufacturer, visitors to Everything Dinosaur’s website: Everything Dinosaur could get access to a short video that provides a showcase for the prehistoric animal model. Potential customers can view a video of the actual model, allowing them to see how the articulated jaws works, how much movement the flexible tail provides and they can gain an appreciation of the build quality.

In the case of the Rebor Smilodon populator Stray Cat figures, our video showcase demonstrates how easy it is to swap the heads over, allowing the figure to be displayed with either its mouth open or closed.

Plans to Make More Product Video Showcases

A spokesperson from Everything Dinosaur commented that the company still intended to produce other videos such as more detailed model reviews, updates on new model introductions and videos providing hints and tips for collectors.

He explained:

“At the request of our customers, we plan to embed into our product pages short videos less than a minute in length that provide a visual guide to the figure, its packaging and the box contents. We have been asked to include footage of a person holding the model, viewers can instantly judge how big the figure is.”

Providing Model Measurements

The model video showcase will permit us to reinforce the printed information we include about products on the Everything Dinosaur website. We do measure models and figures ourselves and post up this information under the “additional information” link on the product page, but we can also state the measurements and show any declared scale in the “video showcase”.

Adding Videos to our Website

By |2023-07-09T14:58:52+01:00January 21st, 2022|Adobe CS5, Dinosaur Fans, Everything Dinosaur News and Updates, Everything Dinosaur Products, Everything Dinosaur videos, Main Page, Photos of Everything Dinosaur Products, Press Releases|0 Comments

Everything Dinosaur team members conduct regular reviews of our website: Everything Dinosaur.

Our website has been praised for its ease of use, visitors find it easy to navigate and it is designed to be very customer friendly. However, we do not intend to rest on our laurels and as we believe in continuous improvement, we are working with our IT specialists and top consultants to provide an even greater customer experience.

One of the things we are testing is the addition of short product videos to our website. We already provide lots of images of the prehistoric animal themed items that we sell, but a video showcasing the product can often help customers to understand the model better. For example, we can show articulated jaws, flexible tails and poseable arms. If a video shows a team member holding the figure, then viewers can instantly get an idea of the model’s size.

Improving an Award-winning Website

This month (January 2022), Everything Dinosaur was awarded the Feefo Platinum Trusted Service award, the highest accolade for customer service. The company’s commitment to helping customers is at the very heart of our business and creating videos of products we sell should help to inform and to educate our website visitors.

Visit the award-winning website: Everything Dinosaur.

We want to provide showcases for the range of prehistoric animal models that we stock. Actual footage of the replica shot by us. Shortly, we will post up a video that looks at the Rebor Smilodon populator Stray Cat in the plain colour variant and we would like your views. The video will be up in a couple of days – we would love to hear what you think of this method of showcasing prehistoric animal models.

A spokesperson from Everything Dinosaur commented:

“Unlike many companies, which do not physically stock items but rely on them being despatched to customers from China, we actually bring prehistoric animal models into our own warehouse. We have access to the replicas and we can shoot videos using the actual models rather than just relying on images that the manufacturer sends out. We can then give our customers much more visual information about a particular product and produce videos that show the figure from every angle.”

YouTube subscribers will be given the opportunity to have an exclusive first view of the Rebor Smilodon video. Team members at Everything Dinosaur will be asking for feedback and comments prior to the video going live on the Everything Dinosaur website.

The New for 2022 CollectA Triceratops Video Review

By |2022-10-25T07:28:12+01:00December 26th, 2021|Adobe CS5, Dinosaur Fans, Everything Dinosaur News and Updates, Everything Dinosaur Products, Everything Dinosaur videos, Main Page, Photos of Everything Dinosaur Products, Product Reviews|0 Comments

Everything Dinosaur has published regular updates on the company’s YouTube channel keeping dinosaur fans and model collectors informed about the new for 2022 CollectA prehistoric animal models. Our blog post today features the fourth and final video in this sort series. We provide a video review of the new, 1:40 scale CollectA Triceratops horridus model.

Everything Dinosaur looks at some of the science behind the new for 2022 CollectA Deluxe Triceratops horridus dinosaur model.

The CollectA Deluxe 1:40 Scale Triceratops horridus

Triceratops might be one of the most recognisable of all the dinosaurs, but scientists have learned a great deal about “three-horned face” over the last decade or so and the new for 2022 CollectA Triceratops (T. horridus) dinosaur model reflects some of the latest scientific thinking.

CollectA Deluxe Triceratops horridus
The new for 2022 CollectA Deluxe Triceratops dinosaur model.

The Shape of the Skull and Neck Frill

The CollectA model has been based on “Horridus”, an almost complete Triceratops horridus specimen excavated from Hell Creek Formation deposits exposed in Montana. This superbly preserved Triceratops skeleton has the most complete skull and neck frill of any Triceratops specimen described to date. It is more than 99% complete. The design team at CollectA have been able to use this skeleton to accurately depict the head and the neck frill on their dinosaur model.

Almost a Complete Tail

In total, around 87% of the entire skeleton of a single, individual animal has been recovered, including much of the tail apart from a few posterior caudal vertebrae. This has permitted palaeontologists to reconstruct the tail of this horned dinosaur. Its length, depth and relative proportions in relation to the rest of the body are reproduced in the new CollectA Triceratops figure.

Everything Dinosaur team members have produced a video review of the recently announced new for 2022 CollectA Deluxe Edmontosaurus model. In our brief video, posted up on the Everything Dinosaur YouTube channel, the narrator looks at the model and outlines the research that has led to the features seen on this figure, such as the soft tissue head crest and the prominent hoof on the third finger of the hand.

The Third Video in a Series of Four

The YouTube video, which lasts a little over 12 minutes, introduces the new figure and examines some of the latest research into the Edmontosaurus genus. It is the third video in a series of four. Team members producing a video every few days highlighting the new model announcements made by CollectA throughout the month of November.

The new for 2022 CollectA Deluxe 1:40 scale Edmontosaurus dinosaur model. CollectA had wanted to introduce a replica of this iconic Late Cretaceous hadrosaur for some time. This 1:40 scale dinosaur model will be in stock at Everything Dinosaur in 2022.

Mummified Dinosaurs

The video looks at the remarkable research into one specific dinosaur specimen. A mummified Edmontosaurus specimen nicknamed “Dakota”. The narrator explains how “dinosaur mummies” are formed and looks at the particular circumstances that led to the remarkable preservation of the “Dakota” specimen, the fossilised remains of an Edmontosaurus annectens, that were found in North Dakota, hence the specimen’s nickname.

The fossil specimen “Dakota” is on display at the North Dakota Heritage Centre and State Museum and research into this remarkable fossil is on-going.

Edmontosaurus Video – Question of the Day

The design team at CollectA had been wanting to create a model of this Late Cretaceous ornithischian dinosaur for some time. In our video, we look at the reason why the model has been given dark stripes on its flank and tail. We look at the fossil evidence for a soft crest and examine recent photographs that reveal that Edmontosaurus had an enlarged, weight-bearing third finger with a hoof-like nail. The narrator explains why the neck scales on the new for 2022 CollectA Edmontosaurus look very different from the scales seen on the rest of the dinosaur figure and accurate model measurements are provided.

Visit Everything Dinosaur: Everything Dinosaur.

CollectA Deluxe Edmontosaurus

As part of our planned engagement with our customers and fans of the Everything Dinosaur YouTube channel we like to ask a question in our CollectA videos. For example, at the moment, there is a Deluxe Parasaurolophus in the CollectA 1:40 scale range, this is to be joined next year by the 1:40 scale Edmontosaurus, which brings us to this query – what other Late Cretaceous duck-billed dinosaur would you like CollectA to add to their CollectA Deluxe series?

We pass on feedback to our chums at CollectA.

Team members at Everything Dinosaur have created a video review of the second batch of new for 2022 CollectA prehistoric animal models to have been announced. This video, which has been posted up on the company’s YouTube channel highlights the new 1:20 scale CollectA Deluxe Smok wawelski model and the fabulous Permian nautiloid Cooperoceras.

Smok wawelski and Cooperoceras texanum

The video review lasts approximately 11 minutes and 50 seconds. The narrator explains some of the challenges that model manufacturers have faced with the global pandemic and praises CollectA for their new prehistoric animal figures. Some of the science behind the creation of the Smok wawelski model is explained. It might be a quadruped and reminiscent of a pseudosuchian (crocodile lineage of the Archosauria), the Everything Dinosaur video explains why the model does not look like a theropod dinosaur.

The new for 2022 CollectA Deluxe Smok wawelski replica reflects the view that this large Late Triassic predator was not a theropod dinosaur.

The video examines the diet of this formidable predator and looks at the fossil bones and coprolites associated with Smok, the largest, terrestrial carnivore described to date from the Late Triassic of central Europe. The second model to be featured is the Cooperoceras replica. How this bizarre, spiny nautiloid came to be discovered is explained and the narrator highlights the range of CollectA invertebrate models and discusses how fossils of ammonites and other animals can be used to help date strata.
