Everything Dinosaur stocks the Haolonggood Ouranosaurus dinosaur model. However, do our models have the updated manus (hand)? Do the Everything Dinosaur Haolonggood Ouranosaurus figures possess the anatomically accurate hand?

Yes, they do, and team members set about creating a short YouTube video to proof it.

The Haolonggood Ouranosaurus Models

Both the green Ouranosaurus figure (WuJu) and the brown figure (WuWei) are in stock. In our short YouTube video (it is under six minutes long), we explain Ouranosaurus classification. We confirm that this dinosaur is not closely related to Iguanodon bernissartensis. Most palaeontologists classify Ouranosaurus nigeriensis as a basal hadrosauriform.

In the video, we examine the fossil evidence that led to the Haolonggood Ouranosaurus figure being changed and provided with an updated manus.

By |2023-11-01T11:24:24+00:00October 19th, 2023|Adobe CS5, Dinosaur Fans, Everything Dinosaur Products, Everything Dinosaur videos, Main Page, Product Reviews|0 Comments

Everything Dinosaur will shortly post up a brief video review of the CollectA Deluxe Koolasuchus model. This 1:20 scale figure is the first prehistoric amphibian to be made by CollectA. It is a magnificent model and team members have been keen to create a video review.

CollectA Deluxe Koolasuchus

In the YouTube video, various details of the model will be highlighted. For example, the head of the CollectA Deluxe Koolasuchus is covered in a wonderful, criss-crossed, hatching effect. This patterning is typical of temnospondyls, in fact it is diagnostic. Should a palaeontologist encounter skull bones with a hatched, criss-crossed pattern, then it is extremely likely that they have discovered a temnospondyl fossil.

Question of the Day?

As the storyboard for the Everything Dinosaur YouTube video comes together, team members want to ask viewers a question. As this is the first prehistoric amphibian made by CollectA, are there other animals that collectors would like a model of?

In the video we will ask the question:

What other type of prehistoric amphibian would you like CollectA to make?

Perhaps collectors would like a replica of giant predator such as Mastodonsaurus? Might an Eryops figure prove popular?

We look forward to reading the replies.

An Exclusive Papo Kronosaurus Video

By |2024-01-02T14:36:04+00:00September 6th, 2023|Adobe CS5, Dinosaur Fans, Everything Dinosaur News and Updates, Everything Dinosaur Products, Everything Dinosaur videos, Main Page, Photos of Everything Dinosaur Products|0 Comments

Everything Dinosaur has produced a short YouTube video review of the recently introduced Papo Kronosaurus marine reptile figure. In this brief video, team members take a detailed look at the Papo Kronosaurus and explain why this figure has a tail fin.

Reviewing the Papo Kronosaurus

Our YouTube video lasts a little over three minutes. We wanted to give model collectors the opportunity to take a closer look at the Papo Kronosaurus replica. The official image released by Papo does not highlight the excellent quality of this model. Everything Dinosaur wanted to create a video and publish photographs to assist collectors with purchase decisions.

Kronosaurus Markings and the Tail Fin

The video begins with the Kronosaurus model being introduced. Comments are made about the figure having a typical Papo appearance. The head and the teeth are examined in detail. The narrator moves on to discuss the flippers and the presence of skin parasites, probably barnacles on the marine reptile figure. This Kronosaurus model has a cloaca.

The video format (chapters):

00:00 – Papo Kronosaurus!
00:48 – Typically Papo!
01:00 – Head and Teeth.
01:22 – Kronosaurus Flippers.
01:51 – Cloaca Watch!
02:08 – Tail Fin Shape!
02:52 – Congratulations Papo.

A section of the Everything Dinosaur video is dedicated to explaining why the figure has been given a tail fin. Tail fins/flukes in the Plesiosauria remains a controversial area. There is some evidence within the fossil record. However, the Plesiosauria is such a diverse clade that there may have been many different shapes and sizes of tail appendage. Most palaeontologists agree, that if a tail fin or fluke was present on Kronosaurus, it probably did not play a huge role in locomotion. The tail fin or fluke would have probably helped to stabilise the predator as it manoeuvred.

Take a look at the YouTube channel of Everything Dinosaur: Everything Dinosaur on YouTube.

Congratulating Papo

The video concluded with the narrator praising the Papo prehistoric animal model range and congratulating the company for producing an excellent Kronosaurus.

Carnotaurus sastrei

Carnotaurus (C. sastrei) was formally named and described in 1985. Fossils of this large theropod had been found the previous year. The extensive skeletal material consisted of the anterior portion of a single individual animal estimated to measure around 7.5 to 8 metres in length. It was described by the late José Bonaparte.

Since the discovery of Carnotaurus, many more South American abelisaurids have been named and described.

Commenting on the video a spokesperson from Everything Dinosaur explained that the video was not an unboxing or model review.

The spokesperson added:

“There are lots of really good model reviews already out there. We prefer to use our YouTube channel to highlight models as they come back into stock.
