Feefo Product Reviews and Product Stars are Back

Feefo product reviews and product stars are back on the Everything Dinosaur website. Reviews provided by customers on their product purchases had been temporarily removed from Everything Dinosaur’s website whilst upgrades and maintenance work was carried out, but now they are back on-line again. Potential customers can see reviews of products from previous purchasers, helping them to make informed choices.

A Detailed Scale Model of a Parasaurolophus

The Nanmu Studio Jurassic Series Parasaurolophus Nutcracker is a fantastic model of a Parasaurolophus in 1:35 scale. Customers will receive a free Parasaurolophus fact sheet with sales of both the green and brown colour variants.

Each model is supplied with a small Parasaurolophus figure long with a display base which measures 12 cm in length.

Parasaurolophus Model Measurements

Both Nanmu Studio Parasaurolophus models measure approximately 31.5 cm in length and they are secured to the display base by a metal pin that sits inside an ornithopod footprint impression that is incorporated into the base. The display base measures 12 cm long.

Sinraptor dongi

Sinraptor dongi was formally named and described in 1994 from fossil material associated with the Shishugou Formation located in north-western China. The Shishugou Formation has yielded numerous dinosaur and pterosaur remains and the strata is believed to have been deposited between 165 to 155 million years ago (Middle to Late Jurassic). A second species assigned to the Sinraptor genus has been named (S. hepingensis from Gao [1992]), although the exact taxonomy of this second species remains controversial as it was originally named by Gao Yangchuanosaurus hepingensis. Yanchuanosaurus and Sinraptor are closely related genera, yet their phylogeny and taxonomy has yet to be fully resolved.

A New PNSO Xinchuan the Sinraptor Dinosaur Model

PNSO have announced that they will be adding a replica of a Sinraptor to their mid-size prehistoric animal model range. Everything Dinosaur have known about this new dinosaur model for some time and confirm that it will be in stock in just a few weeks.

Sinraptor dongi was formally named and described in 1994. The species name is in honour of the eminent Professor Dong Zhiming, one of China’s most celebrated palaeontologists.

A Chinese Theropod Dinosaur

Sinraptor (S. dongi) was named and scientifically described in 1994. The genus name translates as “Robber from China”, so it is highly appropriate for PNSO to add a replica of this Jurassic predator to their already extensive mid-size model range. The specific or trivial name honours the eminent Chinese palaeontologist Professor Dong Zhiming. Although it has the term “raptor” included in the genus name, it was not related to “raptors” (dromaeosaurs). It has been classified as a member of the Carnosauria clade, specifically a member of the Allosauroidea and within this superfamily it is defined as a metriacanthosaurid and thought to be closely related to another Chinese taxon Yangchuanosaurus.

This new for 2022 dinosaur model measures 21.6 cm in length and the model stands around 8.3 cm tall. PNSO do not declare a scale for their mid-size models, however, team members estimate a scale of 1:35 based on the original size estimates given for the holotype specimen.

The Sinraptor figure is supplied with a transparent, plastic support stand, a full-colour, 64-page illustrated booklet and a poster that highlights the palaeoart of Zhao Chuang. This superb dinosaur model also has an articulated lower jaw.

Looking at the New Mordred (Nanmu Studio)

Team members at Everything Dinosaur have been looking at the new Nanmu Studio Mordred figures whilst they await details of CE and UKCA certification from the manufacturer. Today, we are posting up some pictures of these remarkable replicas sent to us by the clever design team at Nanmu Studio.

The four Nanmu Studio Mordred figures namely top left Mordred green with base and accessories – the deluxe version (top right, centre) Mordred green standard version. The Mordred red/black version is bottom left whilst bottom right, centre is the red/black deluxe version with base and accessories. The fence accessory (sold separately) is also shown.

There are four figures to be offered, all produced in a single, one-time-only, limited production run. Nanmu Studio have also produced a fence accessory reminiscent of the security fences seen in the “Jurassic Park/Jurassic World” movie franchise. The Mordred portfolio consists of two colour variants both of which come in either the standard or a deluxe version that includes a display base and other accessories such as interchangeable horns, frills and spikes.

Mordred Model Measurements

Each of the Nanmu Studio Mordred figures measures around 43 cm in length and they stand approximately 20 cm high. When placed on a display base the model will be slightly taller. Each figure has declared scale of 1:35.

“These are intriguing figures, and it is fantastic to see the mix of fantasy and palaeontology that has been deployed by Nanmu Studio to create these superbly detailed creatures. “Ultimasaurus”

The “Ultimasaurus”, sometimes referred to as “Ultimatesaurus” is an amalgam of several different famous dinosaurs, a mixture of theropods and ornithischians. It allegedly combined the armour of the herbivorous dinosaurs Triceratops, Stegosaurus and Ankylosaurus with traits associated with Velociraptors and tyrannosaurs, most notably T. rex.

The deluxe version of this figure is supplied with a display base along with interchangeable horns, spikes and other elements of the model’s dermal armour.

The model will be made from a high grade of PVC whilst the display base will be formed from polystone.

Don’t Forget the Fence

Everything Dinosaur team members are also considering whether to import the security fence accessory that Nanmu Studio intend to manufacture. This fence accessory reminds us of the security fencing and barriers that formed the large dinosaur enclosures in the “Jurassic Park/Jurassic World” movie franchise.

This was a very kind, it was a lovely gesture, but we were just doing our job and trying to help where we could.

The New PNSO Fergus the Acrocanthosaurus

PNSO will be adding a replica of the fearsome North American theropod Acrocanthosaurus (A. atokensis) to their mid-size prehistoric animal model range. Pictures of this exciting new figure have been revealed and Everything Dinosaur can announce that this model should be in stock next month (June 2022). Team members at Everything Dinosaur are looking forward to receiving the PNSO Fergus the Acrocanthosaurus dinosaur model into stock.

Rumours had been circulating for some time within the dinosaur model collecting community that PNSO was due to add a replica of this super-sized, Early Cretaceous carcharodontosaurid to its already extensive model range. Everything Dinosaur can now reveal that this figure will be available in the early summer.

“We are delighted to announce that an Acrocanthosaurus is being added to the PNSO model range. The company has expressed an ambition to dramatically increase the range of models that it offers and over the last two years or so, we have seen Allosaurus, Yutyrannus, Carnotaurus, Qianzhousaurus, Carcharodontosaurus and Tarbosaurus replicas added to their range and now we have a fantastic model of an Acrocanthosaurus joining the PNSO portfolio too.”

The PNSO Fergus the Acrocanthosaurus model measures an impressive 32.5 cm in length and the figure stands around 10.5 cm tall. Although PNSO does not declare a scale for its mid-size models, based on Acrocanthosaurus having an estimated size of 12 metres, team members at Everything Dinosaur have stated that this figure is in approximately 1:37 scale.

Acrocanthosaurus Accessories

This amazing Acrocanthosaurus (A. atokensis) comes complete with a full-colour, 64-page illustrated booklet, posters inspired by the fossil material and highlighting the artwork of Zhao Chuang. PNSO have also prepared a short video explaining how the figure was developed which can be accessed by a QR code.
