Wild Safari Prehistoric World Majungasaurus

The new for 2023 Wild Safari Prehistoric World Majungasaurus dinosaur model is in stock at Everything Dinosaur. This colourful abelisaurid joins the other recently introduced theropod dinosaur Cryolophosaurus. A spokesperson from Everything Dinosaur welcomed the Majungasaurus into stock and stated:

“Majungasaurus puts Madagascar on the map when it comes to Late Cretaceous theropods”.

Wild Safari Prehistoric World Majungasaurus

This striking theropod measures over 25 cm (10 inches) in length. The majestic head is approximately 11.4 cm (4.5 inches) off the ground. The dinosaur model will be supplied with an Everything Dinosaur Majungasaurus fact sheet.

A Prehistoric World Majungasaurus

The Everything Dinosaur spokesperson praised Safari Ltd for adding a Majungasaurus to their model range and commented that the American company certainly had a great sense of humour, as one of the images of the model depicted this dinosaur devouring a biscuit.

The colour scheme chosen depicts counter shading and the red stripes give this dinosaur a fearsome appearance. Majungasaurus was the apex predator in its environment. The model has the tiny arms of a Late Cretaceous abelisaurid. It also has a dimpled skin texture. Everything Dinosaur team members are not sure as to whether skin impressions of Majungasaurus are known.

New Wild Safari Cryolophosaurus Coming into Stock

The Wild Safari Prehistoric World Cryolophosaurus dinosaur model is coming into stock at Everything Dinosaur. A spokesperson from the UK-based company confirmed that the Cryolophosaurus figure was due to arrive next week.

Cryolophosaurus Dinosaur Model

Cryolophosaurus “frozen crested lizard”, was named and scientifically described in 1994. At around six metres in length, this theropod is thought to have been the apex predator in the Early Jurassic ecosystem associated with Antarctica. The new for 2023 Safari Ltd Cryolophosaurus sports a crimson crest. This thin crest earned this dinosaur the nickname “Elvisaurus”. The crest probably played a role in visual communication or confirming fitness for breeding.

Cryolophosaurus Model Measurements

The Wild Safari Prehistoric World Cryolophosaurus dinosaur model measures twenty centimetres in length. That beautifully sculpted head stands around eight centimetres off the ground. Sales of this dinosaur model will be sent out with a free Cryolophosaurus fact sheet. The fact sheet has been researched and written by Everything Dinosaur team members.

Introductions had been scheduled to take place throughout the year. As a result, Everything Dinosaur team members had been eagerly awaiting the arrival of this colourful theropod figure.

The Rebor “Tyrannosaurus rex Vanilla Ice” Mountain replica has been withdrawn from production. A source close to Everything Dinosaur has confirmed that this Tyrannosaurus rex figure has been retired. The model represented a version of a tyrannosaur popularised by the 2005 King Kong film.

Originally introduced in the autumn of 2018, the Rebor “Tyrannosaurus rex Vanilla Ice” in the mountain colour scheme proved extremely popular with dinosaur fans and model collectors. It had a counterpart, the “jungle” version. This too, also proved popular amongst fans of prehistoric animal figures.

The picture (above), shows the Rebor 1/35th scale model “Tyrannosaurus rex” Vanilla Ice Mountain displayed on the Rebor “Summer Kisses” display base.

A spokesperson from Everything Dinosaur commented:

“Models do get retired occasionally. When a model is retired it allows the factory time to produce new figures and replicas. As products get retired, it permits new models to be developed and enter the product range.”

Rebor has produced a wide variety of Tyrannosaurus rex models. The company has been creating models that reflect how T. rex is portrayed in films. Other replicas named “Retrosaurs” reflect earlier film depictions of theropod dinosaurs.

Recently, Rebor introduced the Rebor Tyrannosaurus rex “KISS” Mountain version, a tyrannosaur with lips. This figure also had a counterpart “TUSK” that depicted T. rex as a dinosaur without lips.

PNSO Cameron the Tyrannosaurus rex

PNSO are to add a replica of a T. rex to their 1:35 scale Scientific Art Museum series. The PNSO Cameron the Tyrannosaurus rex figure will be in stock shortly.

PNSO have continued to impress dinosaur fans and model collectors with their ever-increasing range of prehistoric animal figures. The company has already produced several T. rex dinosaur figures. Cameron the T. rex will be a 1/35th scale figure.

Model Measurements

The new for 2023 tyrannosaur figure measures an impressive 35 cm long and the model stands 11.9 cm tall.

A spokesperson from Everything Dinosaur confirmed that the model will be supplied with twenty scientific art posters, a forty-eight-page colour, fully illustrated booklet and a transparent support stand. The Tyrannosaurus rex model will have an articulated lower jaw.

The Nanmu Studio Jurassic Series Giganotosaurus dinosaur models have arrived in stock at Everything Dinosaur. These three exciting dinosaur figures feature in the latest Everything Dinosaur company newsletter. The dinosaur replicas are named “Gustave”, “Typhon” and “King of the Border”. They pay tribute to the Giganotosaurus featured in the film “Jurassic World Dominion”.

The headline model in the latest Everything Dinosaur newsletter is the Nanmu Studio Jurassic Series Giganotosaurus Typhon Deluxe figure. This beautifully detailed figure comes complete with a display base and an Everything Dinosaur fact sheet.

Each of the Giganotosaurus dinosaur models measures 44 cm in length approximately. When secured to their display base the models have a head height of 18.5 centimetres. The dinosaur model display base (supplied with each figure), measures 14 cm x 8 cm.

The latest Everything Dinosaur customer newsletter also features Gustave and King of the Border. Everything Dinosaur offers three new Nanmu Studio Giganotosaurus figures.

It has not happened overnight, but slowly and surely Everything Dinosaur has built an excellent reputation for customer service and support. This has been reflected in the company’s sales overseas.

The PNSO Basilosaurus model, part of the PNSO Age of Dinosaurs range is to be retired. It was one of the first PNSO figures to be introduced, Everything Dinosaur can now confirm that it is out of production.

The PNSO Basilosaurus Model

This large prehistoric whale figure was one of the first PNSO replicas to be supplied complete with transparent display stands. Measuring close to twenty inches in length (more than fifty centimetres long), this figure needed a lot of shelf space. Two species of Basilosaurus are known. Basilosaurus cetoides (the type species) was named by Sir Richard Owen (1839). A second species Basilosaurus isis was erected in 1904 (Andrews).

Exclusive News of Schleich Prehistoric Animal Model Retirements

Everything Dinosaur can confirm that two prehistoric animal models made by Schleich are now out of production and retired. With the recent introduction of five Schleich prehistoric animal figures, we can now confirm Schleich prehistoric animal model retirements.

The figures which have been retired are the Schleich Dimetrodon model that was introduced in 2019 and the Schleich pterosaur figure, the Dimorphodon.

A prehistoric pelycosaur from Schleich (Dimetrodon). — *The new for 2019 Schleich Dimetrodon model has now been retired by the German manufacturer.*

The Schleich Dimetrodon Model (2019)

The green-coloured 2019 Schleich Dimetrodon figure replaced an earlier Dimetrodon model (2016) with a reticulated pattern on its sail. It was one of five new model introductions into the Schleich prehistoric animal model range. Although not a dinosaur, Dimetrodon has proved to be a popular figure amongst collectors. Dimetrodon was a member of the Pelycosauria clade, a synapsid that lived during the Early Permian. Several species have been described.

The Schleich Dimorphodon Figure

Coincidently, the Schleich Dimorphodon figure was also introduced in 2019. It too is being retired. The Schleich Dimorphodon had distinctive “eye flashes” on its wings. It was depicted in a terrestrial pose. With its large skull and huge jaws, this pterosaur model proved to be popular with younger model collectors.

Schleich Prehistoric Animal Model Retirements

A spokesperson from the UK-based Everything Dinosaur stated that both figures would be missed.

The spokesperson explained:

“We do appreciate that models have to be retired. Both the Dimetrodon and the Dimorphodon have been around for about four years, so they have had a good run. By taking some figures out of production this frees up space in the factory for new models.”

Beautiful and Cute Horseshoe Crab Soft Toy

Everything Dinosaur has added a horseshoe crab soft toy to its range of prehistoric plush. The horseshoe crab is very cuddly, sponge washable and is a wonderful new addition to the company’s prehistoric animal soft toy range.

Horseshoe Crab Soft Toy

Animals in the family Limulidae are called “horseshoe crabs” due to the shape of their carapace which is shaped like a horseshoe. These ancient animals are not crabs. The first of these amazing creatures is thought to have evolved around 480 million years ago in the Ordovician. Often described as “living fossils” the four remaining species are the last representatives of the family, which was much more diverse in prehistoric times. Their body shape has not changed for millions of years.

Important Animals for Medical Research

These ancient creatures, with their famous, blue-coloured blood are playing an important role in medicine.

In the 1950s, researchers noticed that the blood of the western Atlantic horseshoe crab species (called Limulus polyphemus by scientists) clots quickly when exposed to certain bacteria. With further study, scientists determined that a compound called LAL (short for Limulus Amebocyte Lysate) is responsible for the clotting. LAL acts as a safeguard for the animals, reacting when it comes into contact with bacteria, fungi, and perhaps most importantly, proteins called endotoxins that are part of the cell structure of certain bacteria.

If these endotoxins get into a person’s bloodstream, they can cause a range of problems from fever to burst blood vessels in the brain. Even after an item has been sterilised of live bacteria, endotoxins can be residual. Researchers quickly saw the potential to use LAL as a simple, reliable test for endotoxins and developed methods to extract the compound. These ancient and increasingly rare marine animals continue to be studied by scientists, keen to understand more about their unique physiology.

A spokesperson from Everything Dinosaur welcomed the arrival of the horseshoe crab soft toy. It joins several other Palaeozoic plush such as the ammonite and belemnite soft toys.

The spokesperson stated:

“It is a very colourful prehistoric animal soft toy. This item of prehistoric plush has bright red legs, a cream-coloured underside and a brown carapace. It has beautiful, cute eyes and a long soft tail. The horseshoe crab soft toy is a welcome addition to our soft toy range.”

UK Government Cracking Down on Fake Reviews

The UK Government has published proposals for new legislation, part of which will help involve the cracking down on fake reviews. Firm action is promised against fake reviews as part of the Digital markets, Competition and Consumers Bill. This Act is likely to become law in 2024.

Cracking Down on Fake Reviews

The proposed UK Government legislation includes draft provisions making it illegal to:

Commission someone to write or submit a fake review.
Post consumer reviews without taking reasonable steps to check that they are genuine.
Offer or advertise to submit, commission or facilitate fake reviews.

As Everything Dinosaur has reported before, the company does receive unsolicited emails from individuals/organisations offering fake reviews and other dubious services.

The Bill, once it comes into force will give the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) greater powers to take “swift and decisive action” against lawbreakers on behalf of UK consumers.
