Everything Dinosaur has commissioned an Arctodus simus scale drawing for the company’s free fact sheet on this giant prehistoric bear.  The illustration is to be used in Everything Dinosaur’s free fact sheet on the Giant short-faced bear (A. simus).  It is to be sent out with sales of the new for 2025 CollectA 1:20 scale model that is due into stock shortly.

The largest males weighed over nine hundred kilograms and were nearly 1.7 metres high at the shoulder. When they reared up, perhaps to intimidate other animals, they stood around 3.4 metres tall. The Arctodus simus towers over our human figure used in the scale drawing.

This illustration has been prepared in response to the imminent arrival of the new CollectA Deluxe 1:20 scale Arctodus simus model.

Mike from Everything Dinosaur commented that the company had commissioned five drawings to accommodate the new CollectA figures.  In addition, a drawing of the horned dinosaur Stellasaurus would be required as PNSO had announced the introduction of a Stellasaurus model due out later this spring.

The five new CollectA models that require scale drawings are:

  • CollectA Deluxe 1:20 scale Giant short-faced bear (A. simus).
  • CollectA Deluxe 1:20 scale Jaekelopterus (J. rhenaniae).
  • The CollectA Age of Dinosaurs Furcatoceratops model.
  • CollectA Deluxe 1:40 scale Ingentia prima.
  • CollectA Deluxe 1:20 scale Phorusrhacos (terror bird).

In addition, a Maip macrothorax dinosaur drawing has been commissioned and this will feature in a forthcoming blog post.
