First of the New Schleich Models for 2026 in Stock

By |2026-06-05T06:09:58+01:00June 3rd, 2026|Categories: Schleich|0 Comments

New Schleich models for 2026 have arrived at Everything Dinosaur.  The new figures include a Brontosaurus, Triceratops and a Dimetrodon model. In addition, the Schleich Megalodon model is available too.  Schleich has been making dinosaur models for decades.  The company has a reputation for making robust, colourful prehistoric animal figures which are ideal for creative, imaginative play.

Schleich Models for 2026

The Schleich Dimetrodon has an articulated lower jaw.  Interestingly, the new Triceratops figure has a moveable head.  Schleich has manufactured Triceratops and Dimetrodon figures previously.  However, the latest figures are typical of Schleich, they are well-painted and attractive.  The Triceratops is particularly colourful with a most impressive headshield.

Brontosaurus has been modelled by Schleich on numerous occasions.  The 2026 Brontosaurus measures thirty-three centimetres in length and has a head height over eleven centimetres.  As with the other Schleich figures it is great for creative, imaginative play.

Schleich have re-introduced a replica of the famous sauropod Brontosaurus.

A Schleich Megalodon Model

Prehistoric shark figures are popular. Schleich have introduced a replica of the largest carnivorous shark known to science (Otodus megalodon).  The figure is marketed under this extinct shark’s popular common name “Megalodon”. At nearly thirty centimetres long, it is an impressive figure.

The Schleich Megalodon (Otodus megalodon) figure.

Members of the model collecting community might be confused over the name of this figure.  The scientific name for this shark is Otodus megalodon.  Its taxonomy has been revised, and it is now thought that this ancient predatory fish is not closely related to the Great white shark (Carcharodon carcharias).

To read more about this: The Classification of a Prehistoric Shark.

Commenting on the introduction of these four prehistoric animal models, Mike from Everything Dinosaur stated:

“Schleich continues to expand its prehistoric animal range with some exciting new additions. These four new figures combine imaginative design with excellent detail, so we expect them to prove popular with collectors and young dinosaur fans alike. Furthermore, they help to broaden the diversity of prehistoric animals represented in the Schleich range. In addition, as Triceratops, Dimetrodon and Brontosaurus figures have been made before, it is fascinating to see the latest interpretations. We are delighted to have all four models in stock and available to our customers. As always, we look forward to hearing what collectors think of these latest arrivals.”

Updating our Tylosaurus Notes to Help Customers

By |2026-05-22T16:00:32+01:00May 23rd, 2026|Categories: CollectA Age of Dinosaurs Popular and CollectA Prehistoric Life Models|0 Comments

With the arrival of the new CollectA Tylosaurus figure, we are busy updating our notes on this enigmatic marine reptile.  The new CollectA Age of Dinosaurs Prehistoric Life Tylosaurus figure replaces an earlier Tylosaurus model.  Although, the new figure is just twenty centimetres long, model collectors have praised its detail.  Just as a manufacturer updates their inventory, so we at Everything Dinosaur have been busy updating the notes we keep on this CollectA figure.

A New CollectA Tylosaurus Model

We think the model is based on the North American species Tylosaurus proriger (pronounced: tie-low-sore-us pro-rig-ah). The shape of the fins and their proportions certainly indicate this species. For example, Konishi et. al (2023) state in their description of Megapterygius that T. proriger is the only other mosasaur known with rear flippers longer than fore flippers. The species of mosasaur is associated with the Santonian to middle Campanian faunal stages of the Cretaceous.

Konishi et. al (2023) state in their description of Megapterygius that T. proriger is the only other mosasaur known with rear flippers longer than fore flippers. It is a detailed figure with a forked tongue, tongue sheath and an elongated and edentulous rostrum.  In addition, it has a hypocercal tail.

The CollectA figure has an edentulous rostrum tip, a forked tongue, a glottis and a hypocercal tail.

Mike from Everything Dinosaur commented:

“The new CollectA Tylosaurus is an upgrade on the previous CollectA Tylosaurus figure.  It has some amazing detail, and the colour scheme is inspired by another member of the Squamata, a banded sea krait.”

New Articulated Cameron the Tyrannosaurus rex

By |2026-05-22T11:43:01+01:00May 22nd, 2026|Categories: PNSO Age of Dinosaurs Models|0 Comments

The new for 2026, PNSO articulated Cameron the Tyrannosaurus rex figure is due to arrive shortly.  We are looking forward to receiving PNSO’s first articulated dinosaur figure.  The model measures thirty-six centimetres in length and stands over eleven centimetres high.  We think this is a figure in 1:35 scale.

Team members have been busy making sure that the priority email alert list for this articulated theropod model is up to date.

This is a companion piece to the original non-articulated Cameron figure from PNSO that was introduced in 2023.  The new articulated figure is around the same size.  It has an articulated lower jaw, neck, arms, hindlimbs, feet and tail.  In total, there are seventeen points of articulation. Intriguingly, this new interpretation of T. rex has lips but no feathers.

Mike from Everything Dinosaur commented:

“Sue and I are excited about this new theropod figure. PNSO has produced its first articulated dinosaur model, and the seventeen points of articulation allow collectors to pose the figure in a variety of ways. The model can balance unaided on a hard, flat surface. However, the PNSO articulated Cameron also includes two transparent support stands to help with long-term display.”

Exclusive Views of the CollectA Deluxe Magnapaulia Model

By |2026-05-06T10:21:52+01:00May 10th, 2026|Categories: CollectA Deluxe Prehistoric Animal Models|0 Comments

The brief period of fine weather has permitted us to take some photographs of the CollectA Deluxe Magnapaulia model outside.  This splendid figure was introduced earlier this year.  It is a 1:60 scale model of the giant lambeosaurine Magnapaulia laticaudus.  It is already proving popular with dinosaur model collectors.

The CollectA Deluxe Magnapaulia Model

The CollectA hadrosaur figure measures a little over twenty centimetres in length.  The impressive hump on the back is approximately nine centimetres off the ground.  Although, the shape of the crest is unknown in this dinosaur it has been given a bright red crest that has been swept backwards from the skull.  In addition, this excellent dinosaur model has a bright red wattle.  This reflects the growing evidence for the presence of soft tissue structures in the Hadrosauridae.

To read an article about the discovery of a soft tissue crest in a saurolophine hadrosaur (Edmontosaurus regalis): Duck-billed Dinosaur with a Comb like a Rooster.

Some fossils representing skin tissue impressions are known.  The CollectA design team have worked hard to incorporate what is known about the integument of Magnapaulia into their figure.

Originally named as Lambeosaurus laticaudus in 1981, it was later assigned to the Hypacrosaurus genus.  However, in 2012 it was given a distinct genus following a revision of the fossil material.

Ammonite Model Proves Invaluable When on a Guided Fossil Walk

By |2026-05-04T21:50:18+01:00May 4th, 2026|Categories: Bullyland Prehistoric Animal Figures|2 Comments

Lyme Regis is famous for its fossils.  Indeed, thousands of tourists flock to this part of the “Jurassic Coast” on the hunt for fossils. It is sensible to book a fossil walk with an experienced guide. Our chum Brandon Lennon took the guys out from the “All the Gear” YouTube channel for a guided fossil walk.  Under Brandon’s expert guidance lots of amazing fossils were found including ammonites.  Indeed, we spotted something from our range attached to the rucksacks used for the walk.  It was a Bullyland ammonite model.

We spotted the now retired Bullyland Belemnite model too.

The Bullyland Ammonite Model

This replica of a typical ammonite is used by palaeontologists, geologists, science communicators and guided fossil walk leaders to illustrate what a living ammonite looked like.  Fossilised ammonite shells found on the Dorset Coast do not provide much evidence.  The ammonite model is used to explain about the animal that once lived in that shell.  It is a great prop.  Museum staff also use this model.  They place it next to ammonite fossils on display.  It depicts the living animal next to the fossil material.

The rucksacks are a brightly coloured. We suspect that this is a sensible precaution. If they are taken off during the walk, then they will be easy to spot amongst the grey rocks of the Lyme Regis shoreline.

Brandon emailed telling us that the “All the Gear” fossil walk was great fun.  In addition, the resulting YouTube video has already attracted over 160, 000 views.  It must be all that coprolite that the guys found aided by the expertise of their fossil walk guide.

The New CollectA Age of Dinosaurs Popular Tylosaurus Reviewed

By |2026-04-29T13:26:30+01:00April 29th, 2026|Categories: CollectA Age of Dinosaurs Popular and CollectA Prehistoric Life Models|0 Comments

The new for 2026 CollectA Age of Dinosaurs Popular Tylosaurus is a most impressive marine reptile model.  It shows some accurate details and, in this review, we will highlight some of the figure’s most amazing features.  The new CollectA Tylosaurus is rapidly becoming a favourite for fans of Cretaceous marine reptiles.

The CollectA Tylosaurus marine reptile model.

The new for 2026 CollectA Tylosaurus marine reptile model. It is an updated replica of an iconic marine reptile from the Late Cretaceous.

The CollectA Tylosaurus Model

The CollectA Age of Dinosaurs Popular series welcomes an updated and revised Tylosaurus.  We assume it is a replacement for the earlier Tylosaurus model that CollectA introduced more than fifteen years ago. No specific taxon is named, although we at Everything Dinosaur think the model has been based on T. proriger. For example, the front flippers are slightly larger than the rear flippers (see ventral view of model).  This is a characteristic of Tylosaurus proriger.

In addition, the front of that long and carefully crafted snout lacks teeth.  The tip of the jaws formed an edentulous, elongated rostrum.  Palaeontologists have suggested that this functioned as a ram which was used to stun prey, or it could have had a sensory function.  Either way this feature has been recreated in the CollectA Tylosaurus figure.

Reflecting the Association with the Squamata

Mosasaurs are members of the Squamata. It is the largest order of extant reptiles, and it includes lizards and snakes. The affinity with the Squamata is demonstrated in the CollectA figure. For instance, it has a forked tongue and in the roof of the mouth, pterygoid teeth are visible. Here too, we see similarities between this new CollectA model and Tylosaurus proriger. The “U-shaped” arrangement of the pterygoid teeth is broadly reminiscent of the shape and orientation of the pterygoid teeth as hypothesised in a living animal.

In addition, the Tylosaurus has a large throat pouch.  These jaws were quite capable of swallowing large chunks of flesh.

The pterygoid teeth are clearly visible in the CollectA Age of Dinosaurs Popular Tylosaurus figure.

Viewing the Glottis and the Hypocercal Tail

A little detail overlooked by other reviewers is that this model has been given a glottis.  Tylosaurus breathed air, it did not have gills. The glottis is an opening located at the base of the mouth, acting as a valve for the windpipe. It was likely visible when the mouth was open wide. We at Everything Dinosaur appreciate this attention to detail.  In addition, that delicate forked tongue is associated with a tongue sheath – another fantastic anatomical detail.

A close view of the anatomical features seen in the mouth of the CollectA Tylosaurus model.

A view of the mouth of the CollectA Tylosaurus figure with the glottis, forked tongue and tongue sheath highlighted. Picture credit: Everything Dinosaur.

A Jacobson’s Organ

If collectors look carefully at the roof of the mouth, they will see two tiny parallel notches. This is the Jacobson’s organ. Tylosaurus possessed a Jacobson’s organ (vomeronasal organ) located on the roof of its mouth in common with modern snakes and some lizards. It probably had a sensory function being able to detect scent particles in water. It is wonderful to see such details in what is a relatively small and inexpensive Tylosaurus figure.

A Hypocercal Tail

The model has a serpentine feel. The head is orientated in one direction, whilst the tail is orientated in the other.  This mimics the postulated method of swimming for this large predator.  In addition, the lower lobe of the tail is much larger than the upper lobe.  The CollectA Tylosaurus model has a hypocercal tail. Fossils show that caudal vertebrae extended into the lower lobe of the tail, making it larger than the upper lobe. Hence, this new mosasaur model has a hypocercal tail.

CollectA Tylosaurus model (new for 2025).

The new for 2026 CollectA Tylosaurus model. We suspect this marine reptile figure will replace the Age of Dinosaurs Tylosaurus (model number 88320), that first came out around fifteen years ago.

Mike from Everything Dinosaur commented:

“This fabulous marine reptile figure updates CollectA’s model range. It improves upon their existing Tylosaurus model, and we recommend this new figure. “

New Herbivorous Dinos Toob in Stock

By |2026-04-24T15:44:45+01:00April 24th, 2026|Categories: Wild Safari Prehistoric World|0 Comments

The Herbivorous Dinos Toob is now in stock.  This is a set of eleven plant-eating dinosaur models. They are extremely colourful figures.  Furthermore, since approximately seventy-five percent of all the known Dinosauria were herbivorous, it is great to see more of these dinosaurs in the spotlight.  Each dinosaur has been carefully painted.

The eleven colourful models are supplied with their own carry case.

These attractive figures range in size. The largest figures are just under ten centimetres in length.  They are wonderful figures and ideal for creative play.  The majority of the models represent dinosaurs that lived during the Cretaceous.

Can you name them all?

Mike from Everything Dinosaur commented:

“This set helps to educate young people about the diets of different types of dinosaurs.  In addition, it highlights the variety and diversity of plant-eating dinosaurs.  It is a colourful and decorative set of herbivorous dinosaur models. New CollectA Prehistoric Animal Models in Stock

By |2026-04-22T18:55:02+01:00April 22nd, 2026|Categories: CollectA Deluxe Prehistoric Animal Models|0 Comments

Four new CollectA models are in stock at Everything Dinosaur. They are three dinosaurs and a marine reptile figure.  We are busy updating and informing customers about their arrival.  They are the first of the new for 2026 CollectA prehistoric animal models to reach our warehouse.

  • CollectA Deluxe 1:60 scale Magnapaulia model.
  • Age of Dinosaurs Popular Tylosaurus.

Four New CollectA Models

The Tylosaurus is the only figure which is not to scale.  Furthermore, it is a replacement for the earlier CollectA Tylosaurus model which is now likely to be retired.  The Meraxes gigas model has an articulated jaw. In addition, it sports the reduced forelimbs which are a characteristic of this taxon.  It is a splendid theropod figure.  Lokiceratops is a welcome addition to CollectA’s range of horned dinosaur figures.  This centrosaurine, famed for its asymmetrical headshield was formally described just two years ago (2024).  Subsequently, the design team at CollectA have moved quickly to develop this ceratopsian replica.

CollectA Lokiceratops model headshield.

A view of the dramatic headshield of the CollectA Lokiceratops model. The frill itself was asymmetrical. This unusual feature suggests that horned dinosaurs had more variety in their ornamentation than scientists previously thought.

Finally, the last of the four new CollectA models is a remarkable Magnapaulia.  It is a model of perhaps the largest lambeosaurine dinosaur known to science.  Its fossils come from the El Gallo Formation of northwestern Mexico.
