Everything Dinosaur’s YouTube channel is dedicated to all things to do with dinosaurs and prehistoric animals. We post up reviews of dinosaur models and dinosaur toys that we stock at our ecommerce website along with tips and tricks about dinosaur model collecting. In addition to the dinosaur model reviews, we post up videos providing information about dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals, fossil discoveries, exciting developments in palaeontology and developments in the Earth Sciences.

An Important Announcement for our Customers Based in the USA

On April 2nd, 2025, the President of the United States announced a series of “Reciprocal Tariffs” on goods coming into the United States. The UK has had a blanket levy of 10% placed on all imports into the USA. In addition, further tariffs have been imposed on individual sectors such as the car industry.

Compared to tariffs imposed on other nations, the 10% levy remains relatively modest. Although such tariffs are not welcomed, this level of imposition underscores the fair and balanced trade that has characterised the relationship between UK businesses and the USA. Additionally, it positions the UK as a reliable and fair trading partner in its dealings with the United States.

However, further to the imposition of these tariffs a Presidential Executive Order was published stating that parcels arriving in the USA containing goods from China and Hong Kong will no longer qualify for the $800 USD duty-free de minimis threshold from May 2nd. This Executive Order not only applies to parcels sent from China and Hong Kong but to any parcel sent to the USA which contains items made in China or Hong Kong.

From May 2nd, each parcel will attract a duty of either 30% of the value or $25 USD per item rising to $50 USD per item from 1st June.

Since the majority of dinosaur and prehistoric animal figures are made in China, we foresee that the removal of the $800 USD duty-free de minimis threshold coupled with these new parcel tariffs on goods where the country of origin is China/Hong Kong is going to have a significant impact on sales of such figures to the United States.

It is likely therefore, that the imposition of these new tariffs will lead to substantial price rises for dinosaur and prehistoric animal figures for buyers in the USA.

The global situation remains fluid, and we note the ongoing discussions between governments to reduce and eliminate tariffs.

However, given these new tariffs we at Everything Dinosaur have reluctantly decided to suspend all sales into the USA from noon BST (7am EST) on Tuesday 15th April.

In light of the increased tariffs, we have made the difficult decision to suspend sales to the USA. We will continue to closely monitor the situation, and we hope that these trading issues are quickly resolved.

We would like to assure our customers that Everything Dinosaur’s sales to all other international markets continue without any disruption.

The Fossil Festival is one of the most anticipated palaeontological events of the year. It takes place over the weekend of the 14th and 15th of June (2025).  Come along and meet Mike and Sue from Everything Dinosaur.

There will be lots of engaging activities, expert talks, and hands-on exhibits. Scelidosaurus (S. harrisonii) is the only dinosaur synonymous with Lyme Regis. Its fossils were found in the Charmouth Mudstone Formation (Charmouth, Dorset) and this small, armoured dinosaur is thought to be a basal member of the thyreophorans. Its exact taxonomic status remains unresolved.

The Lyme Regis Fossil Festival Poster

The Festival has been run annually for the last twenty years.  Everything Dinosaur team members helped establish the Festival.  Now on the twentieth anniversary of this event, the company is returning as one of the main sponsors.  It promises an unforgettable experience for fossil fans, scientists, families and devotees of dinosaurs. Visiting the UNESCO “Jurassic Coast” is always a pleasure.  In addition, to all the other events and activities, we will be giving a talk in the Driftwood Cafe at the Baptist Church. At Everything Dinosaur updating customers is our priority.  Today, (March 21st, 2025), a major incident has been declared at London Heathrow airport.  A fire at an electricity substation near to the airport has led to the closure of Heathrow.  We would like to express our sympathies to all those people who have been affected by this unfortunate incident.  Some of our overseas customers might see a delay in their parcel delivery.

Everything Dinosaur Updating Customers

The media release explains why Heathrow airport has been closed.  It is hoped that the airport will be able to open tomorrow.  The airport will remain closed all day (Friday, 21st March).  The fire at a nearby electrical substation has also cut-off electricity to nearby homes and businesses.

The closure will mean that some of our customer’s parcels destined for overseas are likely to be delayed.

Congratulations to Everything Dinosaur for the publication of the company’s 7,000th blog post. The Everything Dinosaur blog began in May 2007.  Team members have tried to add a blog post every day.  Recently, the blog passed the landmark of having published seven thousand articles.

One of our objectives with the blog is to provide updates on palaeontology and fossil discoveries. Moreover, we wanted to present news stories in a way that minimises the technical terms and use of jargon. We try to produce posts that can be read by those who do not have a formal scientific training. Furthermore, we share our interest in all things related to palaeontology and prehistoric animals. We write articles that can be used by fellow teachers, articles that showcase the work of others, articles whose aim is to inform and to educate.

The Lyme Regis Fossil Festival

The Lyme Regis Fossil Festival is an annual festival held at Lyme Regis on the Jurassic Coast of Dorset. It celebrates the unique geological heritage of Lyme Regis and the Jurassic Coast. The Festival attracts thousands of visitors and Everything Dinosaur along with some of their chums will be presenting at this year’s event.

It might not feel like spring at the moment.  However, by the meteorological calendar, today, March the 1st is the first day of spring.  The days are certainly getting longer, but it is still chilly, especially in the Everything Dinosaur warehouse.  Not to worry, with all the deliveries scheduled for next week, we are going to be busy.  Eofauna, PNSO, Haolonggood and possibly Beasts of the Mesozoic are all due to arrive shortly.

Sue has been busy tidying in the warehouse.  It is important that we make room for all the new stock.  The warehouse is getting a spring clean.  However, it is very tidy and well organised already.  A tidy warehouse helps us to pick, pack and despatch orders quickly.  However, we do have other important tasks.  For example, we have been asked to provide a short biography of the company.  We are happy to oblige.

It can be a challenge writing about your own business.  Fortunately, we were able to brainstorm some ideas and make plenty of notes.

We are a multi-award-winning company that specialises in the sale of museum quality prehistoric animal models. Established in 2005, the company is run by people who enjoy sharing their passion for the past with fellow collectors and model fans.

The business is based in Cheshire (UK), and it has developed a worldwide customer base. Everything Dinosaur also supplies museums, events, attractions and educational bodies with dinosaur and prehistoric animal themed merchandise.  Customers are at the very centre of everything we do.
